I am in LOVE with these boots. For years I've never even considered purchasing these because I thought they'd be clunky and would make my feet look enormous. Never have I been so wrong about something. After destroying my Uggs in the rain and snow and getting tired of wearing my unfashionable Merrell hiking shoes (I own a short sneaker like pair and a tall more substantial tall boot), I knew I needed to find something else and quick. I live in Boston and with the New England winter coming up, I finally gave in and took a chance ordering these boots. I am so, so, so glad I did. Fit: Reading all the reviews saying to size down a half or whole size, I decided to go with a 7.5 instead of my normal 8. They fit great and there's plenty of room for lightweight and medium weight socks. It's still possible to wear an extra thick sock even if it is a bit of a snug fit. I rarely wear super thick socks though so I don't think it will be a problem. The 8 would have been too roomy wearing regular or medium weight socks. During warmer times of the year when I want to wear these, I'd like them to fit well wearing thin socks which would be a problem with my regular size 8. Another plus of having to size down is my feet actually look smaller than they do in any other kind of shoe in my regular size even though they're that big work boot style which usually makes your feet look larger. Crazy! Love it. Style: These boots are surprisingly attractive and fashionable. I've tried wearing them with the laces done up all the way as well as only halfway with the tongue sticking out a little. I think both ways are great, but I really love the partly unlaced look and there's no issue with them slipping off because of the high ankle. They look good with skinny jeans tucked in, but I almost always wear socks over my skinny jeans and I like that look even better with these boots. I scrunch them down if they're knee high socks and it's really cute. Look great with both fashion and active wear leggings. I can't believe I've survived without these boots for so long. I wish I would've bought them years ago! Don't make my mistake. These are a must-have for everyone. *Note: I tried the Teddy Fleece Fold Down boots along with these because I am new to the Timberland brand and wasn't sure what I really wanted. The Teddy style was kind of weird to me. They are a lighter color although both are called "wheat." I liked the look of the original Timbs better with the black in the back. I think they need a break of color and the Teddy didn't have that. They also made my feet look huge which I was trying to avoid (and did with the original boot). So if you are trying to decide between those two styles like I was, I would recommend the original 6". That's my personal preference, but I think you really can't go wrong with them because they're a style that's been around for ages. ... show more

    • Fantastic Shoes (Ordered 6.5 size and I usually wear between 6.5-7) ORDER THE LOWER SIZE IF YOUR SHOE SIZE FALLS BETWEEN 2 SIZES

These shoes are fantastic. They just arrived today (perfect Prime shipping). The shoe is very sturdy, insulated, NOT bulky, soft nubuck feeling on the exterior, and supportive for the feet. I before thought to order similar style shoes for less to save money but then I went to order these because I wanted to pay for the quality. I go to college in Storrs, CT and it's very, very cold up there, not to mention the ice. I mainly bought these boots for their rugged and anti-slip nature and as I run around outside and inside, these boots keep up and grip to the ground very well! Sizing: I order size 6.5 boots. I wear both 6.5 and 7 shoes depending on the brand and type of footwear (if it's a boot or sneakers or heels for example). I would say I'm a size 6.75 (in between 6.5 and 7). If you are in between 2 sizes, I would definitely go down to the lower one. These shoes fit very well, snug, comfortable, but not tight at all. If you are a solid size (for example a solid 7 in most of the footwear you buy), then I would stay with size you usually order since these shoes are pretty true to size. But, if you're an in-betweener like me, I would go to the lower of the 2 sizes you're able to wear for a true snug, and perfect fit. My feet are not wide nor narrow, I believe they're just right. I typically wear a size 6 M in shoes and when I initially ordered these boots, I ordered the 6 m. A lot of the reviews were conflicting in terms of going down a size or just ordering the size I normally am. The boot was too large and I don't mean just a bit of extra wiggle room... LARGE, I do know that with leather/suede that you do go through a 'break in' period and there was no way that the 6 was going to work. Returned, Ordered a whole size smaller, the 5 m, and yes, snug but definitely a better fit, They were even slightly difficult to put on the first few times and I would wear them around the house or do small errands in them to help with the breaking in before really taking them out. Also wore 2 thin pairs of socks so I would not blister and thought it might help the process. I feel like it did and I would recommend this technique. Now, the boots fit perfectly fine after about 24hrs collectively of stretching them out,,, they now fit to the shape of my foot and even went hiking with them. They stay pretty clean too because i had concerns about the light colored suede. Have not jumped in mud or anything but they have gotten dirt all over them which came off super easy with a soft tooth brush. They have also been exposed to rain and dried perfectly fine and I never pre-treated them in any way. These shoes are high quality, have great traction on the soles and are worth the money. ... show more

$140 and they are not worth it at all number one they are canvas when I thought that they were suede! I return them I still didn't get my return refund and I hope it's soon because these boots were not worth the price and they're not even nice but to each his own if you like canvas I don't!
