  • These are Awesome Boots!
Size: 10.5 Color: Medium Brown Nubuck
Chukka is my style for work. I work in the Information Technology IT field so we are business casual everyday. I wore a tie for 30+ years so I will take the no tie, Chinos and Chukka Dress Code any day! It appears to me that Timberland makes so many styles it is hard to get an understanding of all of them! So I have for the past 30 days been reviewing Chukka Boots on the Internet and what is available in the Jackson, MS area where I live. I tried a pair of $250 Frye Boots from Belk, locally and they seemed to be made from very hard-leather and not comfortable to me at all so I returned them. I also returned a pair of UGG Slip On Chukka with buckle as they were too tight across the foot. When I came across these Timberland Boots I thought... Now that is the most BEAUTIFUL Outdoors looking Boot I have ever seen! Yes, it was a Boot and not actually a Chukka, so I had to try them. After reading many reviews on this item on Amazon I determined the size to try. My show size is 10.5, but I normally wear 11 in Boots. Many reviews said go down a full size, but I thought that would probably be too dramatic, so I ordered a 10.5. They are too loose to wear with a thin sock. With a Medium Thickness Sock they fit very well. The first day of wearing I noticed they seemed a little loose. So I looked down at them and thought, I have the tied loosely. Let me tighten up the strings a little and see if that makes a difference. That did it! And when it comes to strings, these Boots have an AWESOME set of Strings. I have never seen Strings like these. They are super long, super thick Round Nylon type Strings that have some pull-elasticity to them. So they are perfect for Boots like this and allow you to adjust the Boots to a custom fit. (You would just hope if you ever needed a replacement set of Strings that Timberland would make them available, because you would never find them at random. The Strings are very specialized.) It did bother me to see in the reviews where some folks said the material of the sole is not of Vibreem quality and would wear out too soon. My thought on that is why would Timberland use anything but a high quality Vibreem sole on a nice pair of Boots like this? My wear will be light so I don't think this will be an issue for me. I will be wearing them to work in an Office. They may not hold up for heavy duty or outdoor use. Finally I will say that the other thing that Timberland got right with these Boots is that they are authentic, outdoor looking boots, but they are very, very light. Maybe that is part of the reasoning on the sole material. Usually when you find an awesome look pair of Boots like this they are real heavy. Not these! Over all considering the many Boots I have researched, these are unique, AWESOME LOOKING, and very comfortable to wear! Finally, they look like a $350 pair of Boots but they cost much less! Timberland... Keep making these Great Quality Products!!! (And make replacement strings available! ;-) ... show more

  • Need width size info? Look Here. Also the Best Boots for an office khaki wearing motorcycle commuter!
(scroll to the bottom for width sizes) I saw these boots at my local retailer, loved them at first sight and tried them on. I regularly wear a size 12 but they were big. Great fit was at an 11.5 wide i think but they didn't have a wide, just a narrow. If it weren't for that I would have happily coughed up the $180 or $190. But i still was trying to convince myself to take them home. So i begged and cried to my wife from my mens department to please come look at my new boots. So after some continuing embarrasement she finally left her womens shoe department and gave me some much needed attention. Even my wife said they would look good with jeans and khakis and agreed they were pricey but justifiable solely on their good looks. And oh they are timberlands she said, that's nice. I didn't care if they were Payless shoe boots they looked awesome, rugged and sophisticated. Perfect for me! Although I have to add Timberlands are quite comfy and lasting because I'ved owned (2) pairs of PRO Tiatans for but busting activities like hiking and kicking hot pipes at the oil refinery. My first pair fell victim to sulfuric acid dripping on the top, but they saved my foot! With that said, I had to have them. She told me why not try another store or even amazon like you always do. Oh yeah, she's a genius! Went on amazon on my mobile and wow they are so cheap! My wife saw that and zipped away to buy now 2 extra pair of shoes. But amazon had different colors and many sizes. No problem I had a Brannock device right next to me ( the metal foot ruler thing-a-magig with sliders and stuff to measure proper shoe sizes). So I played around with the device and used my fat foot ( most people will not have symmetrical perfectly feet, weird I know but true). But my left had been broken in half and now was permanently pregnant, so I knew I needed wide, but how wide? So here are my research findings after fiddling around with the Bannock device with both feet. Fit size Get at least 1/2 size smaller in length and standard or slightly wider size (C or D) and maybe even a whole 1 size smaller but if you do get a wide shoe. the letter designations are different widths. But they differ slightly with different shoe sizes. D is standard width for a given shoe size. I think the increments are in 1/8" or 3/16" according to my ruler on my pocket knife. AAA = Super Slim AA = Extra Slim (the more A's the more Extra) A = Slim B = Narrow C = Less standard width almost narrow D = Standard Width / Medium E = Wide EE = Extra Wide EEE = Fat EEEE = Super Fat Anyway I usually get a 12 standard (D) but I bought 11.5 E. My left foot was easily a EE but I didn't want him to look at a mirror next to the right and feel bad. These boots also saved my high water pant problem when commuting to the office on the motorcycle. The lace height easily covers my sexy ankles and saves countless women from distraction while driving. The short height of the toes make them almost pass for casual brown shoes. I now pair these boots with my chinos and my engineer issued plaid shirts to wreck havock on the office women and keep them from being productive. ... show more

  • Seems to run small and not water proof
Size: 11.5 Color: Medium Brown Nubuck
Size seems to run small, I normally wear a 11 and they were too tight so I had to get an 11 1/2 and they are just a tad bit too big but overall I am happy with the boots, I wish they were water proof.

  • Comfortable boots even after 15+ miles of combined walks.
Size: 10.5 Wide Color: Medium Brown Nubuck
Had these boots for a little over 2 weeks, here's what I think about them: - Shoe size matched the same size I wear for government issued boots: 10W. I did not have to order a size down like other reviews have noted. - I have flat feet and the boots are able to accommodate arch support soles with no spacing issues. Toe box is a little on narrow side but not much of a concern for me. - The leather on these is much softer than the typical work boots I wear, pretty sure they would tear easily if used in abrasive type work environments. - Without speed lacing eyelets on the ankle part of the boot you can expect to take longer to put on and take off boots. - Ankle support is pretty solid on these, pretty standard protection you can expect from any similar ankle high boots. I'm considering getting a local cobbler to add some to mine. - I wear these as a everyday type shoes and average about 10,000 steps a day. I really like how comfortable they feel even at the end of the day. There no break in period needed with these and my feet felt good even after day 1 of wearing them. - If they last more than a year then I'll definitely order another pair. ... show more
