I've had these boots for a little less than a year. I bought them because I wanted to change my usual style a little, and these have ended up becoming my favorite shoes! They're very comfortable, for starters. When I first wore them they actually weren't the most comfortable at all, but after wearing them for a short shift on my feet, the sole had pretty much the same shape as my foot, so it feels very nice, even for long hours. I was worried I'd look like a clown with these, but I've actually received a lot of compliments on them! They look great, and if you think you can find an outfit for them to look good with, you definitely can. They seem very durable, too. Minor scrapes on real leather like this rub right off. Deeper ones may pose a problem, but I've personally had very few instances where they happen, and honestly, the more worn they get, the more character they have. I didn't expect these to become my go-to pair of shoes - I normally opt for Vans, and shoes of that type. But I find myself wearing these whenever weather permits! They're quite warm, which is great under the right circumstances. One other thing I should mention. Despite being boots, and despite having what appears to be a rugged grip, I've found that I slip very easily in these, which is a bit strange. The first time, I was walking on my driveway while it was raining and almost fell over. Walking into a store with linoleum while these aren't fully dried on the bottom is dangerous. To be clear: NOT with ice, with straight rain water. It's something I've had to be very careful about with these shoes, so beware. ... show more

    • Not ideal for flat foot/skinny ankles, but still rugged

This boot fit well and looked good. I used it every day over two 4-month periods, walking about 3 miles/day through rain, slush, snow, and ice. The grip was strong enough I didn't slip at all during uphill slogs, and the boot was happily stylish. It might be worth looking into impregnating the boot with some sort of oil to protect the leather, as there are already one or two small cracks. I didn't do this, but will for winter 2015. Unfortunately, I also have two issues with my feet: first, they have absolutely zero arch; second, I have pretty skinny ankles. The boot initially provided significant support to my feet, but deformed within the first three months to the point my feet often hurt a little after walking in them for >10 minutes. Thankfully, I don't generally need to walk far, but it's still frustrating. I expected the leather to hold up a little better than that. Second, while all boots have break-in periods, these guys chafed around my ankles like there was no tomorrow, even with good socks. I now have nice, circular, cigarette-burn-esque marks on my feet. I'm not looking for foot model looks, but damn those blisters hurt like hell. ... show more

Great quality but Amazon’s recommendation on size said I should go up a half size from my other shoes. I did and they were huge. Had to return. I went down a half size from normal and they fit really well. I ended up chatting to a salesperson at the Timberland store and he said they always recommend going down a half. But once I got the correct size I couldn’t e happier with the quality. ... show more

If you are a city bound hipster looking for a pair of boots based on look to wear with your weekend “fit” these are perfect for you.. however if you want a pair of boots to do anything active or work on your feet this is possibly the worst pair of boots you could purchase. I worked 1 day in them and had an awful time, and so did the boots. By the end of the day we both looked and felt tattered. The soles are cheap and offer no traction, any moisture on any surface, even concrete becomes a hazard. Very disappointed that these are allowed to branded as timberlands, as my last pair from the company were the best boots I have ever owned. If it was an option I would give 0 stars. These boots not only look great, they are extremely comfortable. The upper quality appears to be top notch, and I expect it to last a very long time. No idea on the long term quality of the soles yet as I haven't had them for very long, but I'm not really concerned about that. It is very simple to have a cobbler re-sole with a nice Vibram. For now I am very pleased with the comfort of the sole and the traction. I normally wear a 10.5, but due to recommendations here I went with a 10, and it is perfect. I am able to wear both my thicker boot socks as well as a slightly thinner summer sock, and fit is great with both. (I rated the fit as 'somewhat large' to indicate the 10.5 would have been a little too big.) ... show more
