I bought 1 pk and when more of my cotton socks wear out I'll replace them with wool. They seam to be slightly more durable than cotton. These are a nice fabric just as you'd expect from the brand. I appreciate the variation on the usual neutral colored socks (I'm not a fan of plain ol' grey/white/black). Good stretch and support, and a nice thickness for everyday fall/winter use (not just with your boots in the snow) especially since they are lower cut.

These socks are thick and comfortable. The 3 stars is for the incorrect description. The online description says that it fits 7-12 shoe size, however, the package says 9-12. These socks are too big for me.

According to my wife, I’ve got some strange sock fetish or something. Maybe she’s right. I love socks and definitely own way too many pairs. Living in Minnesota, I’m also a big fan of wool socks—especially when they’re thick, cushy, and cozy. So when I had the chance to try these out, I couldn’t resist. Especially since they’re from a reputable brand like Timberland. I’ll be honest though: with such a low wool content, I was skeptical they'd be any better than something cheaper. So, are they? In some ways, yes. In others, not quite. First off, they are thick, cushy, and cozy—I’ll give them that. I also really like the low cut. Full-length wool socks are perfect for snow boots, but not much else. The quality’s solid too, just what you’d expect from Timberland. Sizing is generous, which I appreciate. I have a somewhat wide 10.5/11 foot, and these have plenty of room without overstretching, which helps them stay thicker, warmer, and more comfortable. Now, where they fall a little short is warmth. Even wearing them in our basement at around 65 degrees, my feet felt a bit chilly. Partly my own circulation issues, but they don’t quite have that “nice and toasty” feel real wool socks give you. Still, there are some trade-offs that make up for it. The biggest is price. If you can find three pairs of 100% wool socks under $20, let me know—I’d be thrilled to get even one. Care is another plus. In my experience, as long as you don’t crank the dryer, these hold up great. And if you have wool allergies or sensitivities, this blend is about as good an alternative as you’ll find. Bottom line: judged for what they are—not what they aren’t—I’m happy with them and would easily recommend. If you’re after a traditional wool sock or top-tier warmth, these probably won’t be it. But if you need a solid hiking sock or something for mild to cool weather, they’re definitely worth checking out. Another quality product from Timberland—just know what you’re buying.
