As you might expect, my tilt stopped working. It would go up, but not down. After checking all the usual stuff, I measured the voltage and found that the switch was telling the relay (this part you're readying about) to move but it wasn't moving. Tilt/Trim relay fixed my issue, but lasted only 3 days running in the Gulf, failed 20 miles from the harbor. First, would only trim up but not down, so had to limp into nearest port to get the motor down, as the sea was rough. By the time we ran 30 miles back to home port, relay would not even click when activated by either switch in either direction. Confirmed with volt meter that there was plenty of power reaching the relay. Put the OEM back on and at least would work intermittently, back to the original problem. If you don't mind trying to find the manual release to get your motor down while bouncing in 3 foot seas.....by all means get one and live that adventure.
