... I think it’s constipating? So I use it more like a mix-in to add flavor and interest to another kidney diet. (Dave’s Pet Food Restricted Phosphorus Diet, also on Amazon, is currently acceptable to my picky little lady.) But I’m glad to have non-Rx options — my cat likes the Tuna & Mackerel flavor best — to add to our ever-changing routine! Worth a try, would introduce in small amounts first.

One of my cats was diagnosed with stage 2 kidney disease about 1 year ago. She is 9 years old. She wasn’t reacting great to a lot of foods except Tiki cat. Then she seemed to be acting lethargic again, even while eating the regular Tiki cat wet food. When I saw that they made Low Phosphorus, senior cat food with extra hydration, I figured I’d try it. Not only did she gobble it up with no issues, but she also was all of the sudden very energetic again and acting more herself. Literally, this worked it’s magic on her within 24 hours! To make sure it was the food change that caused the sudden shift, I gave her a can of the old Tiki cat stuff that I had left over and she was not acting herself again. As soon as I switched her back to the Tiki Cat Silver, she was once again restored to health. I have never gone back after that. She has been very happy and healthy with all flavors of Tiki Cat Silver wet food. In fact, her kidney disease has not progressed since I switched her food which is very comforting! I have one other cat who doesn’t have any medical issues, but she loves this food also. As an added bonus, both of my cats have softer, shinier fur and appear more hydrated overall. While your cat’s taste is definitely a factor (some cats will just not eat certain things), this food is worth a try—especially if your cat doesn’t drink water regularly.

Well let me preface this review by saying my 2 cats eat Science Diet dry food which they love, but I also like wet food. I have been feeding them Purina Fancy Feast Wet, Medleys Poultry With Garden Greens in Sauce. They like it but lick it more than eat it. I have tried a variety of foods that they don't eat. This food looks good; white meat chicken shredded with a sauce on it, but they didn't seem to like it. It doesn't have a gravy but a thin juice. This could be why.

Maybe my cat is picky but she turned her nose up at this. It smells like it's just chicken but I wanted to try it because she's an old kitty. I tried several times even when she was yelling at me for food she still didn't want this. So while im sure it's great food, if your cat is picky, be weary.
