Frankly, I hadn’t realized that we had purchased the red kind. We have used the white type for over 30 years and still like it very much. So, we were surprised to see that this was red. We considered sending it back to get the other one. We were moving around some furniture to do some feng shui and I ended up with a few bruises. I applied the Tiger Balm to the one on my arm and before the day was over, it was no longer purple and black, but red. I used it once there, and the bruise healed as fast as it used to before I developed terminal lung cancer. The same thing happened with the bruises on the front of the left calf. I had bruised the bone and the areas were a tad swollen. After applying the Tiger Balm there, the discoloration disappeared quickly. I also have been experiencing a lot of pain in both areas of the upper back and shoulders because of tumor activity. I used it there a couple of times, and the pain was markedly reduced. I used it on my face to relieve TMJ pain. My face broke out in a rash of itchy bumps. I will not purchase this one again. I will go back to the white kind because I never broke out in a rash while using it.

I give this to my father who suffers from rheumatoid arthritis and struggles to sleep at night from it, he told me that this is the only rub on ointment that has ever really given him major relief, the one particular issue with the red tiger balm is that it will stain your clothing with orange marks, so I would probably try the white/clear one out instead because it works just as well.

My husband always uses the white one, I purchased one of each (red & white) because they were on sale. The product picture and ingredients are listed correctly in the product description, however, the white Tiger Balm arrived red, I noticed then, it says red under the Tiger Balm, but the picture and ingredients when ordering are for white. The picture and ingredients are correct on the red, and it arrived red! Very confusing if you're looking for the mild white/clear one. He's keeping both red, but he uses the white on almost a daily basis.

Okay, I heard that Tiger Balm is amazing. I have never used it before but people would talk about it being better than sliced bread. I was looking forward of using this product cause I have been getting aches in my arms, legs & back after working out. If so many people are talking about how a well known product works so well with a small amount on these areas of your body and offers quick pain relief I was getting excited to use it! I got this here on Amazon and either : 1. people are over exaggerating how great this product is. 2. I got a fake product and this is just using brand awareness to sell something to suckers. 3. The effectiveness of this product is not like it used to be. Either way, there is NO pain relief, NO warmth, and thickness (those the product might be a little bit at first) doesn't offer any thing that it states on the label. I can't say how disappointed I am on this product and I'm going to see if I can return this for my money back. Even if I can't return it I am writing this review to at least state my experience from the Tiger Balm that I received here. I feel people would have better effects of relief if you just used to Vicks vapor rub instead.

Wow, I definitely need to start looking at the oz’s on these kinds of purchases. Completely my fault for not looking closer before purchasing. I was expecting a huge tub of the stuff and instead its this little tiny jar of the good stuff. Again, my fault for not checking, but just know its a tiny little jar that you are getting. Other than that it does what its supposed to do. Rub it on ALL THE MUSCLES that give you pain and require relief. Enjoy it in good health.

Tiger Balm has been on my shelf since 1971 and I swear by it for sprains and aches and pains. I also use it after swimming if I have swimmer's ear. I past a light rub inside my ear (white) and it does not sting too much, but it dries any left over water wash. I use it to stop sneezing and for my cat who sneezes in allergy season too..I wipe some on a tissue and wave it about under cat's nose. it helps us immensely.
