This fitted bottom sheet is an excellent value! It has stood up to washing extremely well, and feels even softer than before it was washed. I totally love the all-around elastic, which makes the sheet fit like no other in its class. The color is lush and uniform, and hasn't faded in the least, even after several washes. The 22 momme material is very consistent in its thickness throughout the entire piece of fabric. If you would like to learn nearly all there is to know about momme (pronounced 'mommy') ratings and what they mean, please take a moment to navigate to my profile page where you can find another of my silk reviews that thoroughly details everything you might wish to know about momme ratings. The review is entitled "A Luxuriously Beautiful Pillowcase!", I hope you enjoy learning from it as much as I enjoyed writing and creating it. A quick overview of momme is: 1) Momme replaces thread-count. There is no thread-count in silk fabric. 2) One (1) Momme = One (1) pound of silk fabric, measuring 45 inches wide x 100 yards long. In metric terms, one (1) momme = 4.34 grams per square meter. Momme-count is the traditional way of measuring the weight of silk. 3) Therefore, if a length of silk measuring 100 yards long by 45 inches wide (45 inches is the standard width of silk fabric) is 19 lbs in weight, then the silk is 19 momme. If the weight of that same length and width of silk fabric is 12 pounds, then the silk is 12 momme. The tighter the weave, the more silk is used, which means that the weight and the momme-count increases. This is why momme-count replaces thread-count where silk is concerned. 4) There is 16% more silk in a 22 momme piece of fabric than there is in a 19 momme piece of silk fabric.
