After owning these pair of boots for 6 years, I can say I’m pretty happy with the quality and how they have held up. I own 3 pairs of Thursday boots and they all seem to be very well made. I think as long as you take care of the leather properly and make sure to condition it and maybe apply a shoe cream to protect the color it’ll actually wear very nice and look better with age. My only complaint with Thursday boots in general is that they don’t offer a whole lot of cushion and there isn’t much space in the shoe to add your own but even still it’s plenty comfortable for walking around in, just not for like hiking or all day kind of walking. I’ve been wearing these shoes as my daily work shoe since they look pretty good dressed up or dressed down. I’ve also worn them when traveling and exploring new cities, dancing around at weddings and parties or just going shopping and I don’t have many complaints as they are a very versatile pair of shoes. I’d recommend these to anyone looking for a solid quality boot that can pair with many outfits but I’d recommend looking at other shoes if you prefer more a rugged boot or need more cushion support in the heel and midsole. ... show more

Unbelievable quality for the price. The interior of the shoe is soft leather, the sole is much more durable and reliable than the crepe sole found on Clarks desert boots. These boots can be worn with a suit or with jeans. The sizing is very accurate, I do not recommend ordering a size down as some people have mentioned. I wear a size twelve in Clarks, Nike, New Balance etc...I ordered size twelve in these boots and they fit perfectly. I recommend getting some leather conditioning wax or oil for proper maintenance. I expect to have these boots for a long time, if they fail to live up to that expectation I'll update this review, but in the meantime, I'm stunned by the awesomeness of the scout boot. Pictures cannot describe how good these look and feel when you open the box. Update, customer service is incredible at Thursday Boot co. I had a small defect on the toe of the boot, I didn’t notice it until the third time wearing them, I contacted Thursday Boots and they shipped new ones out immediately!!!!! I’m sold! UPDATE: These boots have separated from the rubber sole at the toe, after only two months of wear. They began separating after a couple days, and Thursday boot sent me a replacement pair, no questions asked, excellent customer service. The replacement pair had the same issue!!! The third replacement pair also has the same issue. I wish the durability was more substantial on these boots, because they’re extremely comfortable, they look like they’re 3 times the actual price, and the company has provided the best customer service I’ve had in a long time. I haven’t heard any issues regarding the president, or the captain. Maybe the issue is only affecting the scout. UPDATE: one year review...I’ve been wearing these for a year now, and the toe issue has proven to be not an an issue at all. These have stood the test of time, I’ve worn them to work (I walk outside all day) all year, they’re still in perfect condition! ... show more

    • Solid Chukkas for a Great Price
First, and foremost, this shoe hits all the marks for the price. For $150 you get a very stylish, slim looking chukka. The brown color is rich and will age well. The sole has a Dainite style sole that helps with water resistance and traction, as opposed to a leather sole. All around, a solid shoe to fill the gap between casual and formal occasions. The most difficult thing for me before purchasing was figuring out the sizing. I looked at their website and reviews on Amazon, and ordered a size 10, which fit perfectly. I wear a size 10 in my Wolverine 1K boots, 10 D in Allen Edmonds Neumok and Strand, and a 11 in Nike Free Runs. I think people run into trouble when they're used to choosing their shoe size based on shoes that are NOT higher end shoes...? If you know your size for any of the shoe companies I mentioned or others such as Red Wing and Alden, just order your usual size and it should fit perfectly. Thursday Boot Co. designs their shoes in the USA, then has them made in Mexico. If these were made in the USA, the price would go up, but I'd be more than happy to pay the difference. With that said, Mexico is a much better choice than say China. I think the Scouts will serve me well, as long as I give them some TLC, because they definitely do NOT have the same level of quality and ruggedness as Wolverine or Red Wing, and that's okay. These shoes are not perfect, and the quality could be just a notch better, but for the price and looks/comfortability, they're an awesome choice for chukkas. so far I love them I usually like Allen Edmunds but I took a chance on the internet with these because I liked the look, color and price compared to many others. I wore them once so far and was very satisfied fit was true to size I wear a 9 or 9.5 bought these in a 9 and the are just right

    • Stylish and fairly comfortable yes, doubtful on durability, laces too short
First impression...Selecting the size is a pain. Why does this kind of shoe need to be sized differently than other shoes? Even with the guidance, it added to the difficulty when deciding whether/what to buy. But I was intrigued by the brand/look/price point. Out of the box the shoe was very nice looking and well packaged. After trying on, it was stiff but comfortable which worked itself out quickly. The laces are way too short, so I have already ordered 30" laces to replace the 24's. Wore around the house a few days before taking on a trip. Used on a trip for a week with lots of walking. It was fairly comfortable, it is heavy, and the heel seems too tall for the build (maybe it is up to my walking style?). After getting back from the trip I notice the rubber/leather sole connection on the right foot front is separating very slightly, which leads me to believe this is not a durable shoe. Although more stylish than a pair of Timberland Brook Park Chukkas I bought 2 years ago, I doubt they will last nearly as long. ... show more

I’ve had these since November 2017 and they still look really good, esp with a little polish. With 10 months of wear the laces broke and it’s got probably 3-4 months before the rubber sole on the heel needs to replaced and it will be well worth it. I wear them at least several times a week and they are the best shoes/boots I have found to transition from casual to business. They’re a little casual for a suit but they’ll work in a pinch. I wear size 11 in Allen Edmonds and 10.5 in these. They were a little loose feeling when new so I ordered a pair in 10, but they were way too tight so I stuck with 10.5 which have molded to my feet and are now very comfortable. The leather appears to be full grain and made in goodwear welt style so I expect them to hold up for several more years. ... show more
