I've been meaning to try this company since I started seeing social media posts about them a few years back. I don't wear boots that often, but I had been wearing some Johnson & Murphy. Unfortunately, last time I needed to wear some boots for a function, I found a nasty scuff on my old boots and decided to pull the trigger on these. I love the matte look. They look and smell great. They are super comfortable. Honestly, my only criticism so far is that the loop on the back that you use to help put on the boot is a bit too small for my liking. It's therefore a bit of a struggle to slide them on in a hurry. But this minor inconvenience does not detract from the outstanding experience of owning these boots. Best quality in a pair of boots I’ve ever worn! The size runs quite large so go a size and half smaller. Only took one day to break in and be surprisingly comfortable for such a sturdy boot. Nothing about them are cheap. Well done!

Pull tab on heal ripped off. First of all the tab is so small u cannot even get your finger in it to pull up ???? Do better. I ordered a replacement let’s see

    • Wider than other Thursday boots

I have a 10½ in Thursday Cavaliers, Captains and Vanguards but I wanted these to be very tight, so I ordered a 10. I was thinking I'd like a pair of Chelseas for light hiking, so they needed to be snug. However, the size 10 Legends were much wider than my 10½ Thursdays. I'm certain the 9½ would be too short, so that means the Legends just don't fit for me. This is just a personal problem I guess. For a lot of people, I'm sure the wider fit is welcome. For me, the wide fit made these boots not fit for purpose. The tobacco leather is really nice though. I might one day order a pair of tobacco Presidents. I will also note that the pair I received did not come with a boot bag, which every other pair of Thursdays I own did come with. I'm not sure if they stopped including it, or they forgot to include it, or another customer returned the shoes and kept the bag. ... show more

I normally wear a 12.5 or 13 in sneakers. The boots I ordered were size 12. They felt snug enough in the toe, but were a little loose around the ankle and heel. Since I was purchasing them as winter boots, I figured I would be wearing thick socks anyway, and that the slightly roomy boots would not be a problem. I was wrong, and regretted buying them after the first day of wearing them. My left heel was slipping enough that it felt really annoying to walk in them. One frustrating thing about these is that the insoles are not removable. So if you would like to replace them with a slightly thicker variety in order to take up extra volume, you’re out of luck. Another disappointment is that on the website, these boots are listed as having a “storm welt”. However, the version they sell on Amazon seems to be a simple Goodyear welt. I did not realize this though when I bought them. The storm welt was a feature that made me want to purchase the boots initially since I live in a climate with very wet winters (the reason I did not buy the boots off of the Thursday Boots website is so I could use an Amazon gift card I was given). Obviously, I can’t fault the company for the boots not fitting my feet. The leather feels like very good quality. And I like that they are leather lined. The soles seem like good quality as well, and the construction is solid overall, with one exception: the elastic. One of the most disappointing things is that that the elastic on one of the boots gave out after only a few days of wear. The top edge of is now rippled and deformed. Functionally, this may not be a big deal, but it looks pretty ugly. I would think that on boots that cost this much, the elastic would last longer than a week and a half. I am not sure now what I’m going to do about this, if I’m going to try to send them back to the manufacturer, or just leave them at the local Goodwill.
