  • Excellent boot! Runs a bit big
Size: 10.5 Color: Brown
Amazon reviews were mixed on size, so I ordered my usual, 10.5. I had to return for a 1/2 size smaller, and the 10s fit perfectly. A very well constructed boot, comfortable from the first wear, and feel like they will last forever. And look sharp!

  • Absolutely beautiful and well made
The hardest thing about buying clothing and shoes online is getting proper fit. Once you get dialed in with a specific brand, then it's easy to move on from there. I see a lot of conflicting information online about how Thursday boots (and every other company) fit, especially because some people wear shoes that are too small for them and think they "fit," and others get shoes too large and put in insoles and/or wear thick socks. It's subjective. The words "true to size" are meaningless unless there is a frame of reference. No two companies have the exact same last (shape of the footbed), some are longer/shorter, narrower/wider, taller/shallower footbed, pointed/rounded, etc, etc. For a frame of reference, I measure a 12.5 in the Brannock device for length. I wear 14 in Puma and Nike, 13.5 in Adidas, 12 in most Clarks, and anywhere from 11.5 to 13 in other men's shoes. I tried 11.5, 12 and 13 in Thursday Boots. 13 seems to be a perfect fit, with room for my toes. Long story short: For Thursday boots, I wear 1/2 size LARGER than the Brannock length measurement. As far as the boots go, they are obviously well made and you will get way more compliments than you want. If I have a suggestion, it's that the leather inside the boots and on the footbed is quite slippery, so you'll slide around at first until they shape to your feet, lending the idea that they are too large for some. Get past the break in (typically 5-7 days of use) and you'll realize how nice these boots are. I've worn everything from expensive boots to Red Wing Heritage (beautifully made but rock hard soles except for the Moc Toe boots) and these really are a great value. They are cheap enough that you won't feel sick if they get ruined, but expensive enough to be well made and to remind you to take good care of them. Get your size right and you'll be happy: 1/2 size over Brannock device length measurement. ... show more

  • They run big according to my foot
First pair of Thursday boots and I really want to like these. I needed smooth toe black boots that were dressy enough for use with a pilot uniform but also durable enough for banging around flight deck and outside ramp use in the elements. Time will tell whether they are durable but they certainly are handsome looking. My biggest concern so far is sizing. They run big. I have a somewhat narrow foot, I would say US8.5 C width, although I wear US9 in sneakers and US8.5 in other dress shoes or boots and have for 40 years. Unfortunately Thursday does not offer any choice in widths. I communicated my concern with Thursday via email a couple times and used their size calculator. In every instance they recommended a US8 in this boot and that is what I ordered. The boots are huge on my feet, not in length but in width. I have 2 sets of insoles installed and still my foot rubs around when walking. I'm not sure if I will be able to use these for work as they are rubbing blisters so far. Almost makes me wonder if I got a mismarked pair of boots (8.5). Pretty sure a US7.5 would be too short. Wish they offered C widths. ... show more

  • Well made Chelsea Boot
These "Duke" boots fit true to size using US sizing in length, but they do have a relaxed/looser fit. Very well made boot for $200. The black smooth ones do need some "wearing time" to break in and really become the comfortable boot you are expecting. After a month, I can wear them for 8 hours straight. Great for office or dressing up, goes great with jeans or even a suit! If you like Chelseas and you don't mind a heavier boot, I can recommend these with confidence. ... show more

  • Bad Quality and terrible customer service
Size: 8.5 Color: Honey Suede
Bad Quality and terrible customer service!! DONT BUY!! I would give a ZERO star If I could. Received the shoes on Wednesday evening, 08/17 with quality issues (see the attached images) and called Amazon Customer Service on Thursday, 08/18 for exchange. I was told by Amazon Customer Service to wait for 48 hours for Thursday Boot Company to respond. I had to contact Amazon Customer Service for the 2nd time on Monday evening, 08/22 and did not receive any response from Thursday Boot Company between 08/18 and 08/22 until Tuesday morning, 08/23. That's been over 60 hours, not including Saturday and Sunday. By that time, I had spent over 1 hour explaining the situation to 2 different Amazon Customer Associates and 1 manager. So, a guy from Thursday Boot Company emailed me and kept asking for images of the shoes only for their evaluation in the morning, 08/23. At that time, he did not offer any specific solution but consistently asked for images in two sperate emails already, and I emailed him that I was already out of town for the week, but I sent him the images on Monday, 08/29 when I got back. All his said all the time was that the shoes are good and shouldn't be a cause for concern for the spot (it has a small hole/crack/missed a small chunk), NEVER address the paint issue at all. He offered a solution that I drop the shoes to UPS location before sending me a new pair. So far, it has been 13 days in dealing with the issue. It took 7 days for me receiving the shoes. With that solution he offered, I will have to wait for at least another 14 days for receiving a good pair of shoes. That would be 27 days total, almost 1 month. Imaging you spent $200 for a brand new boot and expect it in a perfect condition but found it has quality issues, and the company customer service is SO HARD to reach and AVOID addressing quality issues properly. And you have to wait for at least 27 days for exchange with multiple calls to Amazon and emails with the Thursday Boot company. Plus taking an additional trip to local UPS. DONT WASTE your money and TIME. NOT WORTH IT. ... show more
