My wife suggested I get this because I routinely destroy $100 carry-ons. I've used it on about a dozen flights so far, in the hold and carryon, and I like it a lot. It's holding up well - the fabric is tough and the rounded-off shape helps it survive in the hold. Some things to note: - The compression panel really works well, significantly increases what you can pack. This compensates for the fact that the large wheels and rounded shape means the internal volume is a little less than traditional rollerboard-style bags. - The arrangement of internal pockets is different from standard carry-ons, so you may have to re-think your packing approach just a little. In some ways it's better, since it's easy to separate clothes, shoes and toiletries from one another. - The rounded shape means you can't easily sit your laptop bag on top of it. Instead you use a little strap (with a very strong metal hook) to hang your laptop bag behind it (you often see aircrew do this with their bags). One unexpected benefit of this is that the bag balances perfectly when you're pulling it along. I can pull it at a fast walking pace with one finger, and there is much less stress on the extended handle (always the first thing to break on these bags). - The hard plastic wheels are a little noisy on surfaces like concrete, but they seem able to shake off significant punishment - I have dragged them over all kinds of surfaces. ... show more

This is a quality piece of luggage…sleek, sturdy and rolls great. It it is lightweight which makes it much easier to pull and lift when stowing in overhead carry on. It is very well designed and can hold a surprising amount of clothing due to a very handy removable cover inside that locks down to compress clothing. It has additional spacious compartments for shoes or other bulky items. A family member has had the same Thule luggage for 4 years now, used on many extensive trips and it’s still in excellent shape. This is my initial reaction - I received the carry on but havent used it yet. Why did I buy this? For the looks, I also picked up a matching Thule laptop bag. It's Expensive!!! It is more durable than my 15 year old $25 American Tourister carry on? Probably not but time will tell. Ive travelled around the world and coutless business trips with the American Tourister carry on and it holds up. Does it have more space? No, it actually has about half the space. Is it better quality? Yes it is better quality but not $300 worth. More like $150-$200. Is it a better design? Lots of effort was put into it but I dont think it is any more functional than the $25 one. So why did I buy it? Lately I have been going on many 3-5 day business trips and I wanted to look good at the airport. Lol - honest truth. I will update this after my next trip. ... show more

The Bad: The only thing I don't really like is the wheels, they are large(which is good) but they are made of a hard plastic and appear to be wearing pretty quickly relative to the rest of the bag. The good: I've taken this thing to Africa once and Europe twice and it still looks great(except the wheels). Design is great. I find the organization to be excellent, you lose some space with the outside pocket on the lid but I think the compression board more than makes up for it. If you pack light like I do, space is not an issue at all. It looks nice. I have the backpack from the subterra collection and have been complimented on both several times. Feels sturdy, the hardshell body and thick padded fabric makes it hold its shape well. The handle with he flat profile makes stacking a backpack(with the appropriate strap or panel) super easy. ... show more
