  • Great Boots
I have been in the oilfields for nearly thirty years, I have worn anything from Wal-Mart cheapies through high end Red Wings, these boots rival anything I have had on my feet. I wore them for 13 hours the first day, my feet weren't tired and when I had the chance to sit they felt as though I didn't have boots on. As for me they run true to size. Also I'm a big boy (340 lbs.) I didn't gain any blisters from the first day and my feet are not sore at all. I would suggest these boots to anyone in a rough environment; they also look good if you wanted them for everyday wear. I will follow-up in a few months as to their durability in the patch. I've been wearing these for a couple of weeks now and I must admit they are the most comfortable boots I have ever had at this point, there was no break in period, they have been comfortable sice day one! I have treated them with "Leather Honey" that I also purchased here on Amazon. It too is a great product... More than a month later, working in the oilfields, long rough days and my feet stay protected and continually comfortable. These are hands down the best boots I have ever owned. I would recommend them to anyone for any purpose. UPDATE: September 28, 2012 I will buy another pair of these when the time comes. There have been days I have been in my boots well over 24 hrs and my feet may be tired, but they are not sore, nor are they sore the next day. I would prefer to wear these over any tennis shoe... Better than My Red Wings, Lacrosse, and Wolverines. Update: May 29, 2013 I will buy another pair of these, the pair I have now are just over a year old, they have started to fail in a few spots, one of the black inserts near the toe has broke free on one seam, one lug on a heel nearest the arch has torn (material failure), the small insole identifying piece just came off today. On the positive side the boots overall have stood up well in the oilfield. The leather has held up well the laces lasted all year. They have remained comfortable all year long... by far my first choice of which shoe to wear be it work, play or casual. Overall I would give these boots a five star rating. ... show more

  • comfortable all day from the first day
These are the best boots i ever owned so far. They required no breaking in at all! Many times in construction you have to bend down onto your tip toes most boots ive had (even wide fit) take 2 to 3 weeks before you can do that naturally even then there is a constricting feeling at the joint of your toes not with these. the safety toe (composite) is high & round enough i rarely ever feel it (unless i didn't tie my laces up). the leather is legit, the rubber and leather are stitched together perfectly they have this reflective material (that will be the first thing to wear off) around the heel and toe joint which is a nice touch (high viz). the sole is really sturdy no roll very sturdy flat feeling the insole is high quality (not the best but kinda gellin). The only cons i could find where #1 the laces have this plastic cap that will come off in a week good luck trying to get it through the eyelet once it falls off #2 the tongue was a little bit of a let down like a felt micro fiber feel to it (keep in mind I WELDER! I doubt a heavy spark wont burn through it) #3 The water proofing is great but it doesn't run high enough on the tongue so water will spill into the boot pass that point wish it ran to just a inch under the top of boot #4 this is kinda on me (i have a habit of walking like im kicking a soccer ball toe down) the toe seems to catch every crack making me stumble ( i know i know high step it) having said that THOROGOOD IS MY NEW BOOT BRAND, I will buy another pair of these and try Thorogood Men's Z - Trac Waterproof Safety Toe Lace-Up Boot next. hope this helps i purchased 11.5 extra wide foot i also have very flat feet. ... show more

  • These look nice and may work well for someone that works in ...
I wore these boots for the first time on the 7th of July. By the morning of the 14th of July the toe cap started falling apart and the sole of the boot has started to separate from the upper of the boot. This allows debris to build up behind there and push the boot apart rather quickly. One of the main reasons i bought this boot was for the toe cap. Also the tongue of the boot isn't wide enough. It sits uncomfortably right under the speed laces. nothing will fix this. The last pair i bought, Georgia Boots, i wore until the leather was so thin they split, 7 months later. 7 months, not 7 days. That's from winter, 17 degrees to summer, 113 today. These boots were supposed to be tough. These look nice and may work well for someone that works in an office but not if you are actually going to work in them, at least in South Georgia in the summer. I don't mind paying some money for a boot that is going to last, I hate wasting it on crappy products. What's so hard about making something that will last. If i turned out something of that quality in my shop I would be embarrassed. Buy Danner, Red Wing or Georgia Boots. Don't waste your time or money. ... show more

  • Decent boot
These boots are decent but not great. Fairly comfortable, a little bit bulky.

  • Low build quality
Very comfortable and I like the look but I’ve had the same problem with two pairs. They both ripped open on the back of the heel. I’ve never had a work boot just rip open like that before. It’s too bad because they are very comfortable but just don’t hold up.

  • These are Hardcore Beasts!
I ordered these boots 2+ years ago and they still fit well, are not falling apart, and have stood against many different harsh elements. They have been through: Hunting in rocky terrain, submerged in both salt and fresh water, stomped through the mud, blistering TX heat and humidity, snow, rooftops, ditches, gravel, sand, and pretty much everything nature has to offer. I can say withoutba doubt rhat my experience with these boots has in fact made me a lifelong customer with Thorogood Brand boots. I will never buy anything sub-par again. The price of these boots may seem a bit steep but they are worth far more than what you pay. The only somewhat negative thing to say is that they are a bit heavy, "but they are boots and they are supposed to be heavy". The composite toepiece is extrwmely tough and durable yet maintains a flexibility that steel just cannot. I have had a pickup truckback over the tip of the left boot and The only reason I noticed was because I couldnt pull my leg back for a moment because the tire was moving over the top. Despite the truck running over my foot, I honestly actually didnt feel any contorsion, pressure, or malformation of the molded piece, unbelievable! If you need a workhorse of a boot, this is it. I highly recommend spending a few extra bucks its a huge difference in quality and performance. Almost 3 years later and I cannot forsee having to replace my current pair anytime soon, that is top notch quality! ... show more

  • Instantly comfortable for a 12 hour day. Only lasted 2 months before tearing.
Lasted 2 months and the back flex section ripped open on both boots. They were comfortable but lasting 2 months before ripping is ridiculous. And i cant return them for replacement After having my feet shreaded by two styles of Brunt boots, i decided to give these a try. Right out of the box 11 hour day no blisters. Now after a month they are holding up great. My job destroys boot mud, water, lumber, nails these go through it. Great protection, bulletproof sole, definitely worth the price. Quality built quality leather, my newgo to work boot. ... show more
