I have been looking for an 8" moc-toe boot. After reading many reviews and watching several videos, decided on the Thorogood 1957 Flyway. I was able to order my true size and it fit out of the box in length and width however, I do have a fairly high instep and the Thorogood is uncomfortable in this area. Unfortunately, there is stitching where the tongue joins the upper which prevents this boot from stretching in the instep. Loosening the laces does not help. Removing the insole and walking around for a few miles seemed to compress the footbed enough that I was able to reinstall the insoles. Overall, it's a good boot and I think I will get many years of service out of it. Best part, thanks to a 360 Goodyear Welt, it is recraftable and can be rebuilt several times (heel, sole, welt, footbed, etc) saving money over the life of the boot.

Love Thorogood but lately their QC is lacking. They feel great but the right is a different color than the left. Also the leather on the left boot is very mottled and ruff/dry looking. Again, I am a fan of Thorogood and own 4 pair currently and just ordered these in ST for work but these are way too expensive to have anxiety over spending hard earned money for something that doesn’t just doesn’t look good. Was going to exchange but now these are currently unavailable, sending back.

Not meant for people who actually work hard. Wore boots for 3 days and the sole is chunking apart. If you work hard spend your money somewhere else. Redwings last around 6 months for me but I can’t even get 6 days out of these boots. Not even broke in and falling apart. better off getting big boy sole put on because Thorogood maxwear90 is a complete joke.

First off: quality is impeccable however, I ordered these boots in the size I normally wear. When they showed up I couldn't even fit my foot in the boot, so I returned them. I reordered the boots in a wide size and still couldn't wear them. These are not made for men with wide feet. If I could find a pair that fit I would absolutely wear them.

Tongue bunched up when laced up and pressed on my ankle. Could not wear the boot without being in pain from the bunched up tongue pressing on my ankle. Boot looked to be made sturdy.
