  • Worth a try!
Color: Silver Case / Blue Frames Lens Width: 44.45 Millimeters Magnification Strength: 2.5 x
Pros: They seem to be pretty well made glasses. They fold into their case and slide back out with ease. They are extremely lightweight and surprisingly comfortable to wear. As long as you aren’t moving around much, they stay on pretty good. Cons: If you are active while wearing them, they will fall off. ... show more

  • Very handy
Color: Black Case / Black Frames Lens Width: 44.45 Millimeters Magnification Strength: 1 x
They work great. They stay put but they do make you look a lot 20 years older! Ha ha.

  • So handy!
Color: Black Case / Black Frames Lens Width: 44.45 Millimeters Magnification Strength: 2.5 x
I saw someone using these and had to get a pair. They are as useful and convenient as I imagined. Following cataract surgery my distance vision is exceptional, but I can't read a thing close up. These are easy to carry and quickly pull out when text is just a blur. They fit easily on a key chain without adding much bulk. I keep them with me always. I am told they scratch easily, but mine are still fine. They stay on your nose fairly well, but can fall off. The case is so convenient, but you need to be careful re-inserting them. Overall these are well worth having. The utility far outweighs the small inconveniences. ... show more

  • UPDATE: New nose piece and ThinOptics is sending replacement glasses
Color: Silver Case / Clear Frames Lens Width: 44.45 Millimeters Magnification Strength: 2.5 x
UPDATE: After this pair broke, I ended up buying the ThinOptics that come with the Universal Pod. Those glasses are different: the part that holds on to your nose is no longer the metal strips, it is plastic that is now attached at the top and bottom of the strip. They also did not look like the original glasses that came with the Keychain Case: the lens frames are a uniform thickness, where it looks like the Keychain glasses had a slight taper which would help them overlap when they fold up. I was hoping the Universal Pod ones would fit into the Keychain Case, but because of the difference I did not want to try it and end up ruining the new glasses. It is now 1 year after I bought the Universal Pod ThinOptics and they are still intact. I still miss being able to wear them around my neck, so I contacted ThinOptics through their website to see if I could just buy the glasses without the Keychain Case. They said if I send a picture of the broken ones then they would send a replacement at no cost. Luckily, I did still have them lying around for some reason, and after receiving the picture ThinOptics immediately sent out new, replacement glasses for free, not even a charge for shipping. I am now changing my previous 2 star rating to 5 stars. Will update if there are problems with the new glasses. UPDATE TO THE UPDATE: I received the new replacements - they are the newer style and are exactly the same as the ones I have that came in the Universal Case with the plastic, attached at both ends nose-pieces. They also fit in the keychain case. I have them around my neck again and am a very happy customer :) ---- OLD REVIEW: I removed the keyring part, put a smaller ring on the case, and made a necklace with these. I also sanded off the logo. Because of that, they were incredibly convenient as a cool-looking necklace that I can wear when I leave the house. Other than that, the reviews are all true: - It takes some fiddling to get them to stay on your nose, but it is manageable. The best way is to bend them outwards and let them grab your nose - there were 2 places on my nose where they would stay on. They fall off if you wiggle your nose or sneeze. - The metal nose pieces broke off. The first one about a month after I bought them, the 2nd many months later. They are less comfortable and leave marks on your nose without them, but they are still usable. - They broke completely yesterday, the springy bridge part snapped into a few pieces. I did use them a lot while they lasted and now I'm deciding whether I want to replace them or just try something else. If they were cheaper I would just replace the glasses and still use with my case, but for $20 I might try something more comfortable and durable. ... show more

  • Totally Worth the Price and Trade-offs because You Always have the Ability to Read!
Color: Silver Case / Clear Frames Lens Width: 44.45 Millimeters Magnification Strength: 1.5 x
This is a brilliant design enabling me to have reading glasses on me virtually all the time, with no added bulk to my pockets. I simply added them to a set of house keys I always carry and I'm never without them. They work as advertised and I can read anything clearly. They are molded from a single piece of plastic. I have had these a few months and thought they would break several times but so far have not. They fold in half to go in the key chain holder and when I whip these out everyone asks about them. I did finally scratch one of the lenses today while wiping with a Canon lens cloth but it didn't seem to affect visibility (but I can't think of a safer way to clean glasses and these still got scratched). The trade-offs, which are worth having for the convenience, are (in no particular order): 1. They might not be quite as sharp as lenses made from glass but this has not made them any less effective. Most people probably would not notice. 2. The lenses, as I found out today, scratch very easily. Be careful when wiping them! I pressed a little too firmly for some stubborn smudges but I should have used some cleaning solution instead of a dry cloth (even though it is trusted to clean expensive camera lenses). 3. They are more difficult to clean because of their flexibility. You have to hold the lens you are cleaning whereas with other eye wear I can just hold the frame or other lens. They seem to attract lint but that may also be because they live in my pocket. 4. While clipped on my nose, I must remain nearly expressionless or they will fall off. Any movement of the nose will release them. Your results may vary. 5. Easy to smudge or get fingerprints on because there is no frame to hold. Still worth all FIVE stars! I had tried hinged folding glasses and different ways of having reading glasses on me but I either was annoyed by the bulk or kept forgetting to bring them. These are attached to the house keys I never forget to take so I always have them. I do not even think about them until I need to read something. The price is in line with what you would pay for regular glasses at the drug store, if not just a little more, but all those others are worthless if you don't have them when you need to read! I recommend! I seldom bother to give feedback but felt these deserved a mention! ... show more
