These thermal underwear pants are very comfortable and do a great job containing body heat. However, I would not use them on mildly cold days as you will probably become hot. I live in a state where the winters get fairly cold, but I wouldn't use them for most of the winter days in the South unless I knew I would be outdoors for an extended period of time. Got these for my husband and although he hasn't used them yet, I wanted to comment on the size. He is 6'3", weighs 205....using the measurements provided I got the 4XL and they are perfect. I was concerned they would be too big but measurements are very accurate. Fabric is soft, hugs his legs but not tight/constricting! I bought this pair as an 'experiment' a 'test'. This pair passed my 'test' and exceeded my expectations. Not by much... but passed. My Primary Concern was how well they would fit, given the fact that we were trying to fit my odd body. With minor adjustments, they fit just fine... very comfortable. And so I went skiing. The thermal underwear did a great job of keeping my legs in a working temperature mode - not too cool, not too warm. I went on a hike with the pants delivering the same level of performance. I found the product to be very comfortable for all day wear. I have not tested in "Extreme cold" but they were perfect for days that started out at 32 degrees and improved to 50 degrees. In other words I didn't over heat at 50 and wasn't cold at 32. I don't think I'd wear them in below freezing weather for very long. ... show more
