My only concern with the chair kit is that it provides almost no protection for punctures when using it in the woods.     • Nice, but wish they still made the UL version.
The chair works well, isn't too difficult to setup, and is really comfortable. It's also pretty heavy, and is literally the longest thing I pack by at least a 50% margin. It's a real shame that Cascade Designs discontinued the "Compack" model, as it was some 35% lighter. Not sure if they had reliability problems or what. This thing does look like it can take some punishment, so there's that. All in all I'm happy with it; certainly willing to spend the oz for back support in camp. ... show more

Since upgrading to the super-comfy NeoAir pad several years ago I've been missing the convenience of a light and simple chair kit that so effectively converted my older thinner ThermaRest pad to a comfy camp chair. After trying several different solutions, none of them were as convenient, lightweight, and effectie as the ThermaRest chair kit I loved. This one works great with the NeoAir pad and makes the most comfortable camp chair yet. And for all the haters out there who thought this came with a pad--do some research--a $30 chair kit isn't going to include a $200 sleeping pad--get over it. ... show more

    • Nice and comfortable.
Takes a little bit of playing with to get the support I was looking for, but once I got it adjusted it was really comfortable. Don’t have to carry extra weight of a chair that could break, simple to use.

    • Didn't last long.
The first backpacking trip I took this on it worked great, but shortly thereafter the support rod cracked on one side. Now it's held together with duct tape.

Disappointed that it wasn't made clear that the mattress was not included with the chair. Unfortunately, since I won't be able to use it at my retreat this weekend, I don't have any option except for returning this. Looking at the other 1-star reviews, there is a lot more they need to do to educate customers on what is needed.
