Description

The Therm-A-Rest NeoAir XLite SV Ultralight Inflatable Air Mattress for three- season backpacking, mountaineering, and camping is the ultimate minimalist’s expedition sleeping pad. Offering maximum warmth for the weight, it's designed specifically for adding a padded layer of warmth and insulation between sleeping bag and ground in alpine conditions. Proprietary reflective ThermaCapture technology traps radiant heat within the mat, while the Triangular Core Matrix minimizes heat loss during sleep. With an R-value of 3.2, it’s ideal for sleeping outside in spring, summer, and fall (R-value measures the material’s ability to insulate; the higher the R-value, the warmer the sleeping pad). Baffled internal structure provides support and comfort in a 2.5-inch inflated mattress, for a restful night in the backcountry. The SpeedValve pulls in surrounding air to amplify your breath, inflating the mattress in half the time of conventional valves, for quick setup in a bivy or a tent. The Therm-A-Rest NeoAir XLite sleeping pad is perfect for lightweight expeditions thanks to its innovative tapered design and materials, which eliminate bulk, making it possible to pack the ground pad to the size of a one-liter water bottle. Available in two sizes: Regular measures 72 x 20 x 2.5 inches inflated (packs to 9 x 4 inches), and weighs 16 ounces; Large measures 77 x 25 x 2.5 inflated (packs to 11 x 4.5 inches), and weighs 21 ounces. Stuff sack and repair kit included. Made in the USA.

  • Buy the regular fill valve Thermarest and save your money if this is what you are buying it for.
The speed valve seems more a gimmick or gadget than a useful tool. So unless you have "Herculean" lungs save yourself the money and get the regular valve. After numerous attempts of blowing it up with the speed valve, gave up and rolled it up and used the regular valve. The pad is super comfortable. I got the large for the width, which is is a good size, but is super long. For tall persons it would be great. Would be great if they made a regular length wide. Nice and thick for side sleeping and does not touch the ground. It packs great and is lightweight. Quality material. Have not seen any leaks yet with speed valve, but have not used it for extended periods. Comes with patches and stuff sack. ... show more

  • FAIL. Great idea but flat on 2nd day of 14 day trip. This sucks.
Broke in 2 days. Just went flat, no explanation, no rough handling. I trusted Therma-rest and it was a huge dissapointment especially as a mattress pad is virtually impossible to patch out in the wilderness for 2 weeks. Great idea and works for the first day but the most important thing is that when you are out in the middle of no where you have to depend on the quality of your mattress pad, a brand like therma-rest is risking ruin when they start mass selling a product like this without really making sure it works. This sucks. ... show more

  • This is a useless piece of garbage
Item deflates in 1 hour. This would be a really good feature if you love hard cold ground or if you enjoy waking up every hour to exercise your lungs by blowing up this piece of garbage all night long.

  • Slow leaks NOT from the speed valve
I actually really like the speed valve. After watching a few videos on youtube, it is not difficult to have this pad inflated quickly and not see spots. My issue has been the durability of the fabric. I used this on two overnight trips and it was very comfortable. I only wish I bought the wider version as I am a side sleeper and my knee would often end up on the ground when I tossed and turned. But still, I slept well. I then used it on an 8 day trip and it lost air every night. Every night I was waking up 2 or 3 times to reinflate it :(. Each night I was more careful to close the speed valve properly, but to no avail. When I got home, i followed the instructions to find a leak and sure enough the speed valve was sealed well. I found 2 tiny pinholes (so far) in the top side of the pad close to where my ankles would rest. No idea how that happened. I am using the included repair kit to attempt a repair and, if I am successful in getting this to hold air again, I will bring a lightweight polyester sheet cover to add some protection. I am 5'8 and weigh 190 lbs. Not a lightweight, but still I am surprised that I am having so much trouble with this gear :( Why am i giving this 3 stars? because it is lightweight, easy to inflate and deflate, and comfortable to sleep on. I am hoping they all do not have this problem. ... show more

  • Works great make sure the speed valve is tucked in!!!! or else!!!
I bought one of these at REI that had been returned because it wouldn't stay inflated and it works fine. I had reason to believe that a lot of reviews for this were operator error when putting the speed valve back in before rolling it closed, I used the camper sv for over a month in new zealand with no problems...well....I was right. Works fine just make sure the speed valve goes back in with no wrinkles in it and its flat when you roll it up, cause seriously do you really think that thermarest would release something that was that prone to failure? That's what I thought... ... show more
