Beyond the trail, the seat is also ideal for use on bleachers at sporting events, concerts, and festivals, and offers plenty of warmth with 1.5-inch thick foam that insulates from the ground temperature. Easily adjust the firmness of the Therm-a-Rest Lite Seat with a valve that can be adjusted with one hand. An integrated bungee loop keeps the seat rolled up tight. Bought two of these for high school sporting events on bleachers. They work well as a little extra cushion. You can blow it up firm or a little less which I prefer. Folds up and fits in my backpack water bottle pocket so I also have taken this on some longer plane flights.

I use this on long flights and it makes the seat much more comfortable. It easily self inflates and you can let out some of the air while sitting on it until it feels just right. With the harder seats on some planes now, it's almost a necessity and the fit is perfect.

This is a very lightweight air cushion that appears to be well-made. Based on experience with Therm-a-rest, this is a well-made item. The technology of sitting on a thin air cushion versus sitting on memory foam material seems to work much better in an uncomfortable seat (or on a cold rock). The 3" thick cousin of this item, "Camp Seat" which Therm-a-rest no longer makes, worked great on very long airplane or uncomfortable car seat rides. It handily wraps up on itself with a small, unobtrusive cord. While it self-inflates, you still need to add a few breaths of your own to get it to full status. Not real sanitary. The reason I give it four stars and not five is it is not quite thick enough for purpose- allowing a 180 pound person to sit on a cold rock for an hour or in an uncomfortable airplane seat for 8 hours. Therm-a-rest has the expertise to make this another 1/2 inch or so thick with little or no additional weight. This would make it perfect for both the backpacker minimizing weight and the distance car/ plane traveler. ... show more

Purchased this Sep 11, 2023, really liked the product, easy to maintain, inflated to about 1.5 inches for a comfortable seat. December, 2024, the seat started to make popping sounds. The seat was not longer 1.5 inches thick (high) but now went to about 6.5 inches thick. Not longer a comfortable . I contacted the company support team in Jan, 2025, via email documenting the problem. I received an email back stating "Thank you for being in touch!" and "We will reply as soon as possible." Its been almost 2 months and I have not heard back stating we will sent you a new one or a refund . I would be cautious buying this product May 05, 2025 - Nice to report the Therm-a-Rest Support Team came through after waiting several months to hear from from. The team, Christian and Warren ( two I interfaced with), were great to work with with sending me a complete replacement with no charge. I received the new seat pad today, works as it should. Hope this one stays in the shape it should for yrs to come. ... show more
