This is an absolutely great chain. The 1.1m is thick enough to be noticeable and sparkling while still being dainty on the fiance's neck. After two years of wear it shows ZERO signs of fading, tarnishing or any issue at all. It looks exactly the same as the day I bought it (although it is $40 more now, inflation and gold prices be damned). Really, REALLY sparkly and shiny! Honestly, when I opened it, I was a bit disappointed because it was a lot thinner than I expected for the price. It's not SUPER thin, but it is thin. I have 4 other gold chains, and none are as thin as this one. But I really didn't know what a 1.1 mm chain would look like, I mean 1.1 mm IS pretty small. I opened it in my dark bedroom, but once I walked into my living room with it with the sun shining in my windows I fell in LOVE. This chain is by FAR the brightest, shiniest, sparkliest (not a word I don't think) gold chain I have. I am keeping it for sure, and happily! Oh, and it has a very small lobster claw clasp that I have a tough time working because it's small, I may bring it to my local jeweler and get a larger one put on...but if you are younger than 54, you'll probably do fine with it. ;) I added a pic of the chain, please ignore my old lady skin and my thyroid cancer scar...but hey, better old than dead!!! :D ... show more

Update Sept 2024: I purchased a 14K Yellow Gold 20 Inch 1.3mm Chain for my wife. Not very pleased with this purchase. The chain was only 3.9 Grams in weight vs the Web Description of 5.2 Grams [25% Less Gold]. The chain does not lay straight. The box did not include the actual weight vs the one I ordered 5 years ago. I returned this chain as the quality has diminished! Original Purchase June 2019: My Wife Loves this Chain! This is an upgrade to her 20 inch 0.5 mm Box Chain that came with her diamond pendant. She wanted a heavier 18 inch Box Chain with a lobster clasp and this 1.3 mm Box Chain fit the bill perfectly. My measurement of the chain is 1.24 mm wide and 5.2 grams in total weight. The 14K White Gold Box Chain is clearly stamped 14K. The necklace came in a nice gift box and included the specs stamped on a plastic pouch (CH-0474-180, 14K Chain, 18 inch, 5.17 grams). This Box Chain is nearly 5.8 times heavier than the chain it replaces and still remains dainty...but seriously stronger for a nice sense of security. The gold has a nice shine and the lobster clasp is appropriate to the 1.1 mm size. 1.1 has the minimalist look that is popular now, but it is still noticable. The chain is just right for light weight pendants or charms. If you need the chain to hold a heavy or large pendant, size up to 1.2 or 1.3 mm.
