I had this book as a kid, and held onto it to give to my future child. It was in good condition but the scratch-n-sniff stickers didn't have a smell anymore so I got a new one. This is just like the last one, and my son loves to read it during the holidays. It's a cute little story and has some fun Christmas smells like pine trees, pies, and gingerbread. I read this book to my own children 35 years ago and they loved it, in fact I still have the original book but of course the scents have faded away. When I saw this book on Amazon I had to buy it last year for my grandchildren, the scents were strong at first but when I took it off the book shelf to read to the grands this year most of the scents had faded. Highly recommend this book for children of all ages. A MUST HAVE in our family and passed down for 3 generations, hopefully more. This is a book I had as a child, read to my children and now recently bought for my grandchild. It is a nice short story of a bear family getting ready for the Christmas holiday with scent stickers on some pages of smells typically associated with Christmas. It is well known that the more senses engaged in a memory, the more vivid the memory. Thus this book with the scents provide both a pleasant and familiar story that becomes nostalgic and well remembered. I have given this book to many children nieces, nephews and young friends of the family when they had children. The stickers on the 40+ year old book are worn out (sometimes i think i can faintly still smell them, though that may be just from memory or wishful thinking). Honestly I dont expect the scent to last to last 40+years, hence bought new ones for my youngest child-when Amazon was still new, and again recently [was super relieved it was still in print!]. I may contact the publishers though and see if i can get new scent stickers to replace them... Either way, HIGHLY recommend the Sweet Smell of Christmas! ... show more
