This game has recieved a rating of 7.5 by two of the most reputable game review websites on the internet and pretty much every critic in between. This is an outrage and I cannot sit idlely by and say nothing. So lets get to it shall we. 1. This game is awesome and loads of fun. 2. The main character Sean controls well above any other character from other sandbox games excluding Assassin's Creed 2 and Red Dead Redemption. However, Sean is just as fluid as those two and you rarely find yourself experiencing any hiccups in the running, jumping, climbing, etc... 3. The graphics are good for a sandbox game and in my opinion fall just short of those from Prototype and Assassin's Creed 2. However, the visual style and presentation are so well done it hardly seams fair to nitpick on the graphics as you will be having too much fun to notice that they aren't quite as good as the aforementioned. 3. The gameplay is astoundingly fun and will provide 30 to 50 hours of enjoyment if you decide to blow up every target and collect every car. The missions are varied and always fun with just the right amount of challenge. 4. The gunplay is awesome and the weapons and explosives have real impact, especially if you have surround sound with a sub. There is no auto-aim, so those of you looking for the game to play itself will be greatly disappointed as you will be forced to aim manually.Aww! 5. Conclusion: This game is easily a 9.0 and maybe higher. Seems these sites have become a little skewed or maybe I just have poor taste in videogames. I didn't care for Left for Dead or Prototype and those games recieved a 9.0. However, I did like RE4, RE5, MGS, MGS 2, MGS 3, MGS 4, Uncharted 1 & 2, Bioshock 1 & 2, all the GTA's, Assassin's creed 1, 2, and Brotherhood, Dead Space, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Borderlands just to name a few. The Sabateur is just as good as those games in my opinion. Special Note: People have complained about crippling bugs and I have completed the game and only managed to experience the normal amount found in all games.

I got this game for $15 on a buy one game, get one 50% off. This game has been out a while and I didn't hear much hype about it at all. When I first heard about the game, I figured I would purchase it at some point, but I was pretty tired of WW2 games. The metacritic.com score for the game is at a 73 (based on 69 ratings), however the user's rating was an 86 (also based on 69 reviews) so I figured all those users can't be wrong. WOW was I surprised! The game is a ton of fun. The achievements are fair and reasonable. Game play is around 40 hours to complete the whole game. A lot of side missions/jobs/objectives to complete. This game is VERY similar to the Godfather games, however there is a touch of Assassin's Creed, a touch of Crackdown, and some grand theft auto san andreas mixed in. The game stays reasonable in realism for the most part, however there is some building climbing (note Assassin's Creed) that doesn't make sense. This is a very enjoyable game with good variety and a long story line.

A different sort of game....interesting, but that's about all. Not really interested in climbing buildings, but the biggest dislike was the fact that there were no checkpoints where one would naturally assume there would be at least one. In fact, I quit this game in disgust before I ever found the first checkpoint or save after going back to the start of the game numerous times.

I'm playing this almost a year after release, but I can't believe I waited this long. The Saboteur is a wonderful game that takes place in WWII, but unlike most other games in that setting, this is NOT a first person shooter, and you do not play a soldier. Instead, you play as Irishman Sean in a Nazi-occupied Paris. The visual style of this game is spectacular. When you start the game, Paris is black and white, with the red colors of the Nazi flags and armbands and the yellow windows the only colors. Certain actions will "inspire" parts of Paris, and this will turn that area into a free, colorful area. Driving from one area to another either made me feel safe or uneasy, depending on what area I was entering. The stealth and and sneaking mechanic is another awesome addition. You can quietly kill a Nazi and put on his uniform. After doing that, you can walk around a Nazi base (but be sure not to get too close) and rig the whole thing for a massive explosion. Playing this game made me a little upset that we will not see another game from Pandemic. Hopefully their crew will take the ideas they represented in this game elsewhere and make another masterpiece.

if you want a review for this game it would be this GTA+Red faction guerilla warfare+ Assassins creed-mix elements from all those games and youll get what this turned out to be the controls work great the graphics and coloring system are innovative and unique by this i mean some areas are black white and gray untill you liberate them but colors like-red yellow and blue still stick out leaving you that little BAM to show you something important untill you liberate the area the story actually has a plot and characters who fit into it seamlessly and its just a really fun game...highly advised and hope you have fun!

This game is an incredible amount of fun. It it as good as Assassin's Creed II? Not really-- that game boasted a superb fight system & fluid controls & character animations that made it a complete show stopper. However, one of the best things about Assassin's Creed, namely, its incredible evocation of a specific time and place, with a vast, gorgeous game world to explore and enjoy, is also the best thing about Saboteur. The romance of WWII-era Paris, the characters that are right out of Casablanca, or an Indiana Jones movie, and the thrill of re-enacting the fabled Paris resistance, with it's intellectuals and hand grenades, just cannot be beat! The game world is just as rich and detailed as Assassin's Creed-- the city map is fully realized and shockingly accurate. If you've been to Paris, playing this game is like a repeat visit, but with the added glamor and charm of the Occupation-era milleau. Personally, I prefer this setting and this group of characters to those found in the GTA games. Of course, this game is highly derivative of GTA games, but that being said, there's something much more exciting and novel about this setting and theme than GTA. Instead of wearing Timbs and blue jeans and a ball cap, our characters are wearing classic fashions of '40s Paris. Instead of driving today's cars, they are zooming around in classic roadsters from the period. Instead of stripclubs and taxi cab agencies, we get swanky cabarets and romantic, candle-lit catacombs stocked with contraband. The gameplay is also highly addictive, from the accessible, yet very challenging gunplay, to the auto races, to the varied missions that range from assassination to demolitions to rescuing hostages, there is hours of fun to be had exploring and wreaking havoc in Paris and the environs. Furthermore, this game actually has a very engaging plot and group of characters. The story is well-complimented by cracker jack dialog. The lines are always clever, and quite frequently laugh-out-loud funny. The voice acting is great. Of course it is campy. The drama plays like the espionage elements from Casablanca or a classic Noir film. It isn't supposed to be today's Hollywood version of "realism", instead, it is done in the style of classic films from the period when it was made. It isn't particularly ground-breaking, which is why I cannot give it a full five stars- I reserve that rating for games that really push the genre forward. But that being said, The Saboteur is a fantastic game--comparable to/derivative of Assassin's Creed and GTA, but with a unique charm and intelligence that makes it really stand out.

I had this game for awhile after it came out until it was stolen and hadn't played it for years. So I decided to get once again now that I'm older and it's even better than I remember. The art style is incredible and something I have not seen in any other game, the usage of black and white of where the Nazi presence is in Paris, whereas the colored areas is the french resistance. All the while the main character is hot after revenge. The controls are a bit dated but not to the point where it's unplayable. Overall it's a great game that I would recommend to anyone.

I really wanted to like this game but there are a number of things that has made me really dislike it. Number one is the crummy save system. Instead of saving the game where you left off before you died the game either sends you back to a HQ where you tediously have to reload your guns and ammo or it starts at a checkpoint where you have to go through all the things you did before. The sneak doesn't work because the too numerous Nazis can apparently see everything and through walls and behind trees so it is an almost useless skill. if you expect to win a shoot out, forget it for once the silly Nazi blows his magic whistle the Nazi spawn out of the ground faster than Darkspawn and you will never kill them all as they spawn right in front of you and behind. Sean is a weak character who dies easily when the Nazi spawns pop out of the ground and see through the trees. You do a lot of tedious running for your life in this game looking for safe places to hide only to find that most of the time when you get there you can't get in because the all-seeing, all knowing Nazis saw you from a hundred yards away. If there were this many Nazis in France in the 1940's all seeing and all knowing, they would have won the war. What could have been a great game is just ruined because of the silliness of spawning Nazis with magic whistles. I shot so many Zeppelins from a Turret gun that I ran up the money to more than 10 ks. Repeat this is not a game for shooters. One of the most annoying games ever.
