This was the best purchase of premade decks I've made! You can buy these separately but you don't get the bonus cards (that I'm aware of) that this one came with. Included were two premade decks, themed boxes, themed coin, instructions and strategies for the deck play, GO series booster pack and a pack of GO holo cards to be swapped out in your decks (or use however you like, ie. Rare Candy, Boss's Orders) Recently rules have changed, eliminating some cards from tourny play, so you may have to substitute some if you're playing competitively. I wish I could find the other premade decks bundles (Vicinti & Gardivoir, Lycanroc & Corviknight) sold by Amazon. I don't buy/trust 3rd party vendors to not tamper/remove cards so they can sell on ebay. Would love to see if the other bundled packs came with bonus cards you can swap. When buying them alone (bought Victini and Gardivoir seperate as single packs) you just get the deck, coin, and box.

I have to admit that my opinion on this is heavily influenced by the price. This combo pack is normally $39.99, and I purchased it for around $24 here on Amazon. These two theme decks, Mewtwo and Melmetal, are actually sold individually for $14.99, and I always wondered why the bundle was $10 more expensive. It turns out that's because of additional cards that are included in the bundle, which was a total surprise for me. Everything you get in the individual decks is here, but you also get 2 Pokemon GO booster packs and a couple handfuls of trainer cards that are exclusive to this bundle. I personally don't think 2 booster packs and some trainer cards make the bundle worth it, but when you can get it for cheap like I did it's hard not to recommend it. I recently bought one of the Battle Academy boxes in an attempt to teach my son to play the TCG proper, but my wife and I have found it to be quite a bit of fun ourselves. Theme decks like these are nice for the casual play we engage in, and are great for folks who don't want to sift through cards bought from booster packs to build decks. Keep an eye on the price, and if you see this for less than $30 don't hesitate to pick it up. At that price point it becomes a nice little bargain.

It was a gift for my Daughter. She wanted to try it, I wanted her off a device. Shes 8. Cheaper that that Stupid money clawing game she was playing! I played MTG, Years ago. (The Card game not the Awful Person) It was pretty easy to learn, and Now she doesn't just look for her Device. Additionally she got a book about it and Reads and writes about her cards in her notebook, organizes and talks about it a ton. Here's the Bigger deal, She's Thinking, Reading, Doing Math while Playing her Game. Honor Roll All year and she's 2 grades ahead in Reading Unlike the rest of these kids in her MS school. Also If she actually takes care of it, Some are worth something Later! Great Purchase!
