Description

At last, a real working pool table for guys without a basement or a spare $2,000. From the bestselling author of The Miniature Book of Miniature Golf, comes an original gift: a complete miniature, working pool table, plus balls, rack, cue, and bridge, packaged with a 48-page full-color book that explains how to play more than 30 games. The snap of the cue, the crack of the balls, the satisfying thwack of sinking your shot: It’s all the fun of pool, on a table that you can play anywhere, anytime. The diminutive, stable table is covered in a feltlike material, and even has an automatic return that collects the balls in a drawer below. The cue never needs chalking, and the whimsical bridge helps with those hard-to-reach shots. The book gives complete, easy-to- follow rules to a variety of games: classics like Eight Ball and Nine Ball, of course, and 141 Continuous―the legendary game of straight pool played by Fast Eddie and Minnesota Fats in The Hustler, and every other skilled pocket billiards player―but also unusual games (Six Stroke, Convergence, Seven Ball, Bowlliards), and games the inventive author made up or adapted to play on the pool table―Hockey, Tag, even Sharks & Minnows. I got his for my brother who is a faithful pool player and he loved to see the scaling. Perfect for your average pool lover.

  • Great Help with New Games
Format: Board book
I was looking for a book that had games to play on our full sized pool table and this one has many to offer. My husband loved getting it for a Christmas gift from my son. He said it was a great book.

  • Too Small To Be Complete
Format: Board book
The balls this book comes with are filled with air. When they hit, there is hardly any weight there to transfer energy to the other ball. Every shot you make will make the table move because every shot requires too much force. It might be fun when I replace the balls with some kind of BB but until then it's just collecting dust on my desk. Also, retrieving the balls after a game is terrible and should have been designed better. ... show more

  • great novelty gift
Format: Board book
Makes for a great novelty gift. It's not perfect, the cues don't have a lot of mass to them, but it works well enough that you can play. No trick shots, though (not that we were that skilled anyway.).

  • Disappointed
Format: Board book
I got this package in the mail today, and when i opened it, it had been shipped without the pool cues, balls, and rack. Basically, it's just the book. There's no way i would have bought this product if i had known that. Without those pieces, it's useless. I'm very upset and not happy with this product. I don't see that it says "Does not include pieces" anywhere in the listing. ... show more
