  • This is truly an amazing collection!
Amazing collection for all fans of the entire Phantasm Saga. Not many of these are left, so if you're on the fence I'd snstch it up. The transfers are great, and the sphere is a super cool collectible. It's also been at a much lower price point recently. Pull the trigger!

  • Sphere collection. Great set!
This set has all the films .... with the best picture quality versions and the most special features, plus it comes with a really cool sphere! I recommended this set over the standalone discs which are also sold separately. SPOILER: I've been a huge fan of Phantasm since I first saw the original on tv back in the early 80s. So.... It was all just Mike's bad dreams and hallucinations following the death of his family members, and that's how his mind coped with the it all... very similar to Leonardo DiCaprio's character in "Shutter Island". We learn this at the end of the Phantasm (1979) film when Reggie explains it was just a dream and reminds him that his brother is gone.... but we see that Mike's fantasies are going to continue on and on when the tall man grabs him yet again just before the credits roll. What made the original film so great was the mystery of it all. Not knowing what's going to happen next. What are these silver spheres? How did this finger turn into a giant fly? Who is this 13 year old kid driving a Cuda and he's also a master mechanic who swears, drinks beer and shoots guns? That kid was the best part of the movie though the film had alot of great elements that made it really stand out among other horror movies at the time. Very unique. Its a classic. Unfortunately the same can't be said about any of the sequels. Parts 2,3,4,5 are just bloody gorefests that try to piece together some kind of goofy story that's being made up as they go along. No sequels were ever necessary imho but if you're a Phantasm superfan and cant get enough of Reggie and Mikes adventures hunting down the tall man in their Plymouth Cuda again and again over the course of several decades... knock yourself out. This set is definitely for you. I personally only bought it for the original 1979 film and the plastic sphere. ... show more

  • Cult Classics
The new transfer of the first movie on my Panasonic 4k player looks amazing. Second movie is still my favorite. Third and fourth I forgot how bad they were. I'll finish the others tomorrow. I really just wanted the ball so the movies were just good cheesy gravy.

  • Phantasm 5-Film Sphere Collection On Blu-ray
Well Go USA Entertainment releases all 5 Phantasm films in one set, looking superb in HD, a definite upgrade from the various previous DVD releases. The first and third films from(now defunct) Anchor Bay in 2007, the fourth originally from MGM, then years later again from Anchor Bay, while the second one was from Universal in 2009, then from Scream Factory in 2013, while the fifth one is exclusively Well Go. All previous extras are ported over here, plus many new ones. Exclusively to this set is a replica of a silver sphere used in all five films, coming in a medium size box, with clear plastic window on front, with stand and two blades beneath, with the slits to insert them. The box is opened from the top, where you will see an image of the '71 Barracuda muscle car. You'll have to lift the whole thing out to get to the Blu-ray case, which is on the bottom, but nicely packaged in embossed sleeves, with a bonus disc included with a bunch of other features. Spanning the years 1979-2016, these five films(starring Reggie Bannister, Michael Baldwin, Bill Thornbury, and Angus Scrimm as the Tall Man) were significant cult favorites, particularly the first, telling one long story that may or not be really happening, or multiple timelines at work? Created and directed(except the last, which he oversaw) by Don Coscarelli, fans, or "Phans" will certainly want this unique package. ... show more

  • Awesome little collection!
This was a nice little addition to my collection. The package arrived in excellent condition and the discs are pristine. It’s not all that great they are just in a booklet but I knew what I was getting into and it was still really well packaged and the book was still very neat.

  • Straight from the box: nice and crushed!
8.4.21. Unfortunately, this came right out of the box this way. I very seldom have to do a return, but this one went right back to the local distribution center. Here's hoping that my replacement shows up in a little better shape as I'm veey much looking forward to this collection.
