The media could not be loaded. The music plays on a three minute and ten second loop. The recording really does sound like a music box. The songs are Mary had a little lamb, 3 songs I did not know, Old mcdonald, Rockabye baby, another song I did not recognize, Hush little baby, It’s a Small world, Frere Jacques, Twinkle twinkle, and Go to sleep little baby. There are buttons that allow you to skip from song to song, but since the songs are mostly under 20 seconds long, this seems like a pointless feature. I used rechargeable double As to power the mobile/speaker, which worked fine. If you press the M button once, it turns off the music and leaves the mobile spinner on. When you press the button a second time, the spinner turns off but the music stays on. Pressing the M button a third time activates the music and the spinner. There is no way to adjust the volume on the mobile, but it’s fairly soft. I did have some disappointment with the look, the packaging is covered with warnings and does not have any photos of the mobile. If you gift this, the recipient probably won’t realize what it actually is. I was also bummed to see fairly large tags on Earth and the orange planet. These can easily be cut off, but you run the risk of accidentally cutting the plush or leaving a small, annoying nub behind. I was also bummed that the stripes on the orange planet didn’t continue all the way to the back. the rocket ship does not have a loop at the top of its string, so it has to be tied on by hand. It did fall off five minutes after the first time I tied it. I’d like to see a loop at the top. I’d also prefer to see a celestial sticker on the front of the mobile motor rather than the branding. The mobile was fairly easy to assemble, but it was a little tricky to get the top hook attached to the music box/motor. I found that turning the music box sideways and attaching it at an angle was the best approach. It also took a lot of force to get the arms of the mobile snapped together. During the process, I was afraid I’d snap a hook off. I think the mobile is pretty, but I’m not in love with the rushed music. ... show more

The Peanutshell baby crib mobile is adorable! I love how colorful the planets are. I'm not fond of the tags on the planets though. It seems like they could have included the information differently than tags hanging from the planets. The planets are soft and plush. I like the covering that goes around the rod as well. Overall, the mobile appears to be sturdy and durable. The music box takes AA batteries, and they are not included. It has a good sound quality and plays multiple sounds. You can also mute the sound if you prefer to just use the mobile. It would make a nice gift, but be sure to add a pack of batteries with the mobile. ... show more

The baby liked it immediately as we were installing it. The Peanutshell Space Musical Crib Mobile has added a nice touch to our baby's crib. Its space theme with bright colored planets, a rocket, moon, and star is visually engaging and stimulates my little one's interest. It fits on our standard crib quite well and was relatively easy to assemble. The arm of the mobile is detachable, which is a practical feature. It could use more detailed instructions. CONS: Two downsides. The first is that it's battery-powered and it doesn't come with batteries, so make sure you have AA batteries handy. The second is that the instructions are lacking the final part of the installation. Make sure you look at the Amazon listing pictures to understand how to finish assembly. ... show more

This is the best space themed mobile I have found. It is visually pleasing. I don't like the tags on some of the pieces. The music is a nice touch it runs on 2 double A batteries that are not included. The tempo is a bit rushed on a few of the tunes however it's not that big of a deal. Easy to assemble. This was very easy to put together and it looks absolutely adorable. I like that the planets are plushy as opposed to being made of something harder. It works great and my child loves it. It is currently priced at $34.99, but this is prime day so the price may go back up. If you're looking for a good mobile that doesn't run the risk of falling into the crib and hurting your child, this would be the mobile to use. I really like it. This is such a nice mobile. The colors are bright and vibrant, and it is really well made. It takes AA batteries, which aren't included, so make sure you have some on hand for set up.

I did not use a mobile with my last child, but he loved the one he had on his swing so I got this for his little sister. It goes on easily enough and I was able to mount it high enough that I feel comfortable that she can't reach it. That was my main worry. I remove it once she's asleep just to be safe.
