I dunno, $40 seems to trivial when you are sleep deprived and buying all the other stuff people claim works. I needed help and my baby showed signs of responding to music to help him sleep. So I finally got it. This machine worked immediately! In dark/dim room and snuggly in his sleep sack he comfortably stared at the soft light and gentle movements of colorful characters while listening to the instrumental music and drifted off to sleep. He really responded to this machine. So glad! Love the remote too, I sit nearby and press once more to make sure he’s all the way into a sleep cycle before I let it stop playing. She gets so excited when it comes on that she reaches out for it and hugs it. The media could not be loaded. This was referred to us by a friend who has the same one, whose toddler would apparently play with it independently for hours. My son absolutely dreaded bed time and would be next to impossible to put to bed without being nursed and gently transferred…after him being over a year and still not sleeping through the night, and with me pregnant with the next behbeh I was desperate to try anything and everything to make bedtime and staying in bed possible. It took him several nights to warm up to this toy, but now it is a part of his routine (he’s 20 months old, we bought it a few months ago). He waves his good nights to everyone and lets me carry him to his light switch to turn off, let’s me put him in his crib, then he walks over, pushes the button until he finds a song he likes, and collapses to try to fall asleep. It’s amazing. Sometimes he’ll get a second wind and get back up and keep pressing the button, but the biggest thing for us is that he’s CONTENT. Not screaming bloody murder to be picked up. Maybe he’s just maturing and doesn’t actually need this toy, but that’s not what I tell myself. We are very happy with the purchase. The sound and light is very calming and eventually the light fades to turn off and the music gradually gets quieter until it is off, so baby or toddler isn’t disturbed by the sudden change.
