Update 7/1/23: Very happy with the Omnishelf! Raising my review to 5 stars after using it daily. I love how compact this is in the field as it allows me to eliminate carrying a small foldable table for my laptop. To give this shelf additional functionality, I designed some 3D printed accessories that clip directly to the Omnishelf and fit inside the case when transporting: • Mutlpurpose drink holder that also serves as a multimeter or ammeter holster • Mouse pad shelf Check for these accessories on Etsy if you are interested. I have a few other 3D designs I may incorporate as well to add more functionality to the shelf. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I priced out components to make a custom version and the price of materials came close to the price of the Omnishelf. I didn’t factor in my labor, but I could see it would take some time to implement my ideas so I opted for the price of entry. This shelf is robust and grips great with the magnets. I haven’t tested the suction cups yet, but I keep them on me in case I need in field. I have some additional ideas and modifications that I will create with a 3D Printer that will help make this the Ultimate portable shelf. Only negative is the price of the shelf as I feel this should be cheaper for what it is. You’ll see there are other reviews stating the same.

Okay. Technically this is as advertised, but it could be a lot better. There are lots of pinch points for fingers OUCH! It also feels cheap (it is very, very sturdy, but cheap plastic). Also, it's kindof useless as anything other than a magnetic shelf. For the price I feel it should double as a breifcase/laptop holder. It should have a tool pouch or some foam padding somewhere. Maybe it should be watertight and act as a breifcase! It should have a better handle for sure. At the very least the plastic edges should be finished and smooth without little plastic ribbons hanging off. I feel they have a good idea for a product and then focused on churning out the cheapest possible version of it that they could charge the most money for.

Im a former HVAC controls tech and i purchased The Omni Shelf when i first learned of it. Out in the field i was always looking for a place to sit my laptop and not worry about it getting dropped, knocked over or stepped on. The Omni Shelf solved all those problems for me. I didnt have to lug around a cart to put it on anymore. I just grabbed my Omni Shelf with my laptop and tools inside and headed to the job site. My cowworkers seen it now its spreading Through out my old company. I changed jobs and work PLCs automated assembly lines now and just purchased a new one to make things easier because i have limited space will programming the machines. I highly recommend this product that uses a laptop on a daily bases.

Just received this and couldn’t wait to try it out. Stuck it to a surface and I was checking stability and pushed on the work surface a little and the cable came loose from the crimped eyelet. Plus it doesn’t open to a 90degree so the work surface isn’t level. Has around a 15 degree slope to it so tools roll to the back. Update: I emailed manufacturer and he was aware of a problem with some of the cables and immediately offered to fix problem and is making changes to design in next couple months. I still have decided to return product but he was quick to respond and very apologetic so good on him.

Holds laptop, fluke, graph paper pad and pen/pencils. Easy to move around and not tote a table having to de mob and set back up. Magnets seem hella strong and hoping this last me years doing HV Electrical Commissioning.
