Very comfortable fit & shape of straps - though they are not soft padded , lots of compartments for cables, chargers, pens, wallet, & all the little things I use through the day - lip balm, hand cream, extra ear buds, etc. Fits a MB Air easily and one med to large tablet in the back section but the other lined pockets are better for the smaller size tablets/iPad not the Pro, good for a Kindle. I bought the North Face Women's Surge Backpack for my daughter's freshman year of college, and it has been an excellent choice. North Face has been our go-to backpack brand for years due to their amazing durability, and this model did not disappoint. The multiple compartments and built-in laptop protection sleeve make organizing easy and keep her tech safe. One of the standout features is how well it hides dirt from sitting on classroom floors, keeping it looking clean. We found the best price and color selection on Amazon, which was a big plus. The only drawback is its size—at 31 liters, it's one of the largest backpacks out there. However, with all the books and supplies she needs to carry, we couldn't go any smaller. Highly recommend this backpack for any college student!

I was fortunate to purchase this backpack when the price was dropped by $20. There is a plethora of use options because of the myriad of pockets and compartments. Perfect size for both daily and travel use…sturdy and well made.

I ordered both the men’s and women’s version of this backpack because of several reviews suggesting the women’s was much smaller. This bag will be my daily carry to the office, and will accompany me when I go on travel for work. In comparing both versions of the bag, they are exactly the same size and design, and both are tagged as 31L capacity. Aside from aesthetics (color, material), the biggest difference is the men’s version has an ergonomically correct design for the stature of a male frame, and the women’s is that of a woman’s frame. I am a 5’8” woman with a medium build. I really could have gone either way, but ultimately opted to send the men’s bag back and keep this women’s bag for the ergonomic design and also for the specific color and weight of the fabric. The material of the men’s bag felt so much bulkier that even with nothing inside the bag it felt heavy on my frame. The material of this women’s bag in the color I selected was insanely more lightweight and only felt as heavy as the empty men’s bag once I loaded all my things in it!

I bought this backpack for nursing school. After spending $140, I was upset to discover that one of the front zippers is stuck shut and I cannot get it to open. If it were a cheap backpack, I would probably be okay with it and just deal with it, but I can't justify spending this amount of money on a backpack and not even be able to utilize all the features right out of the box. I wanted to do an even exchange so I could get a replacement delivered ASAP and to not have to be out another $140 while waiting for the return to be processed, but that was not an option. It has to be straight up returned and a separate order for a replacement backpack has to be placed. School has already started, so these issues are frustrating.
