So, I don’t normally wander into North Face territory, mostly because my wallet starts sweating before I do, but I decided to give this hoodie a shot. I was hoping for that fancy, high-end “I paid extra so it should last until the heat death of the universe” feeling. And honestly? It almost delivers. First off: comfort. This thing is ridiculously soft. Like “I accidentally took a nap in it twice” soft. The inside is warm, cozy, and perfect for fall weather or pretending you didn’t turn the heat on yet. The material is nice and thick, but not marshmallow-puffy thick, a solid middle ground. And yes, it fits true to size. Sleeves actually stay put when you reach for something, which is a minor miracle in hoodie land. The stitching feels strong, the fabric feels durable, and the grey color is one of those universal shades that goes with everything, from jeans to sweatpants to “I’m not leaving the house today” attire. Bonus: it’s part of North Face’s Circular Design line, which means it’s made with better-sourced materials and designed to last, be reused, and hopefully keep my hoodie from ending up in a landfill before its time. Now, for the not-so-fun part: the price. This is where North Face gently reminds you that you’re paying for their name, their sustainability mission… and probably a small portion of a mountain somewhere. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a really nice hoodie. It just doesn’t feel dramatically more premium than a good quality sweatshirt from other retailers at a lower cost. Also, lint loves this thing like it’s a long-lost relative. But overall, it's warm, comfortable, well-built, and actually stylish. I like it enough to wear constantly, just not enough to buy five more unless I suddenly find gold in my couch cushions. 4/5 stars. Great hoodie, slightly bougie price tag. ... show more

Without getting caught up in fashion or style, I’ll focus solely on the points of interest for those who wish to be comfortable in colder weather. First of all, this hooded sweatshirt is unbelievably lightweight. It doesn’t feel tangibly thick enough to provide the insulation to trap heat but it doesn’t feel tangibly so beautifully by being loose-fitting around the proper places. Your arms, back and abdomen have amble room allowing body heat to stay close to your body (particularly your core) keeping you comfortably warm. Next, the soft material lining this sweatshirt is remarkably soft making it genuinely comfortable to the touch. This softness also assists in maintaining body heat loss to a minimum much like down feathers. It does look stylish, comes in a variety of very fashionable colors and is made of fine quality materials. The fit is good too - I have a problem finding hoodies and jackets with sleeves that cover my arms when they are extended, but this jacket fits very well.
