So did today long hike, over 17 miles with Hedgehogs on and must say they are great. Moderate cushioning is perfect for long hike in mixed terrain. Wasn’t very hot outside today but my feet’s didn’t sweat or get cold. Good traction on gravel , grass and rocks. Haven’t a chance to try em over wet rocks or wet granite but from my own experience there is no shoes or boots safe and stable on wet granite. I believe each hiker should have a pair of hedgehogs. It’s a classic and must have. There is the only one thing that would be improved. A toe box. This is not like the toe box is to small or causing any discomfort or pressure or anything else. Simply if if it was just a bit bigger ( like in Altra Lone Peak) that would be the best hiking shoe ever made. I really recommend em to anybody who loves to walk and hike. They are not that much expensive and will give you a lot of miles of comfort. ... show more

These were absolutely great especially for that price, I am a 10 and a half but usually wear an 11 and the 10 and a house were on sale for $50 less and even though I read reviews that said they ran small I took the chance and they do not run small for me at all and I'm used to wearing a bigger shoe size. I have used North Face hedgehog for a number of years for trail walking and have been pleased. I love having a waterproof shoe outside for puddles and very wet grass. I don’t like wet feet. Last pair developed hole in the uppers, which has never happened before so I hope that just an anomaly. I think these fit a little looser than previous models but are comfortable and have good grip when wet so I’m okay. I also think that the arch support feels a little better than than the old model. I would buy again unless they don’t hold up ... show more

I Hate them. They look like old man shoes. My wife is like where’s the Velcro straps making fun of them. They feel cheap as well. I missed the return window so unfortunately I’m stuck with a pair of shoes I won’t be wearing. Wish they still had the ultra 111’s looks like they are discontinued. I am wearing Hedgehog shoes for the past 15 years. They are awesome. Fit me well and right balance between weight and functionality. I was buying new pairs every 2-3 years as they start leaking water. I used to hike 100+ days a year. Sometimes in places like Himalaya. In my opinion this is a good run for amount of beating they get. This new version is not as good. I bought last pair the last year. Hiked no more than 10 days (hard to find time with small kids who prefer to ski or dance) and they already leaking water. The main difference I can see: they don’t use GoreTex anymore. ... show more
