Great NorthFace bag! I use it for work. Only a couple weeks so far, but it does and holds everything I need. I especially like that it can hold 4 water bottles, and/or tumblers/coffee cups, just like my Patagonia bag that it replaced that lasted me for almost 8 years. The material and zippers feel durable so hopefully this bag will last me just as long, if not longer. ... show more

I purchased this Lichen backpack from The North Face in late January 2026, and overall I really like the design. The size is perfect for everyday use, it’s comfortable to carry, and the pockets are well laid out. It feels lightweight but still sturdy, and it works great for commuting and daily errands. However, after only about six weeks of normal use, the front panel has developed significant discoloration in a very specific area (see photo). The bag hasn’t been exposed to anything unusual—no chemicals, spills, or heavy wear—so this appears to be related to the material or coating used on the fabric rather than normal use. For a brand known for durability, this is pretty disappointing, especially considering how new the bag is. The discoloration makes it look much older than it actually is. I still like the bag overall, but the material issue is concerning and not what I expected from this brand. Pros • Comfortable and lightweight • Good pocket layout • Nice everyday size Cons • Noticeable discoloration after only ~6 weeks • Appears to be a material defect I’m hoping this may be covered under warranty or that the brand addresses this issue. ... show more
