Description

1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts continues the hauntingly spectacular Lost Bride Trilogy with book two, The Mirror. When Sonya MacTavish inherits the huge Victorian mansion on the coast of Maine, she has no idea that the house is haunted. The footsteps she hears at night, the doors slamming, the music playing, are not figments of her imagination. In her dreams she sees glimpses of the past. In the present she finds portraits of brides. And when she has visions of an antique mirror, she is drawn to it, sensing it holds dark family secrets. Then one night the mirror appears and Sonya glides through this looking glass, into the past―and sees a bride murdered on her wedding day, the circle of gold torn from her finger. It is a scene that will play out again and again―a centuries-old curse that must be broken―and a puzzle she must solve if there is any hope of breaking the curse. Read more

  • Intriguing, suspenseful
The Mirror By Nora Roberts is a gripping and intriguing novel that keeps readers on the edge of their seats. Known for her skill in weaving suspense with emotional depths, she delivers a story that blends mystery, romance, and psychological intrigue. The characters in the novel are strong, each with their own motivation and flaws. Fear is not in their vocabulary or genetic makeup. The constantly evolving plot keeps the reader guessing, and the tension builds steadily, keeping you hooked. Overall, Nora Roberts' The Mirror " is an intense, fast-paced read filled with suspense, intrigued, and strong character dynamics that will keep readers captivated from beginning to end. Now we await the final book in The Lost Bride Triology. ... show more

  • Exciting continuation
What a roller coaster of a ride. Loved the party. Such detail. Love the garden scenes. And loved the presentation and what went down there. Who couldn’t love the families. Just a great mix of many interesting characters. And so the story progresses. Third will be a finale worth the wait I am sure. Bravo Nora for another great book. ... show more

  • Intriguing!
The second in the Lost Brides Trilogy starts where the first finished. This is an amazing story of love with multiple weddings performed in Lost Brides Manor that explain the home’s name. Seven brides married, and very shortly after died under very frightening circumstances. We met Dobbs, the evil entity that occupies the house in the first book, she is still disrupting life in the second. We have our usual cast of characters, Sonya the graphic designer who inherited the house. Cleo, her best friend/like sister who is an artist. Trey, a lawyer and frequent visitor to the house as a child, and Sonya’s lover. Owen, Sonya’s cousin who is very attracted to Cleo, he is a contractor. Little by little the house ghosts have become family, of course except Dobbs. Ms. Robert’s always includes the most wonderful pets in her stories, and we have three dogs, and a cat who are very much part of the family. Her characters are wonderful, with plenty of romance, suspense and things that go bump in the night. I can’t wait for the third book. ... show more

  • Well written, but certainly not a stand alone book
I normally love Nora Roberts. Her characters are well-developed/her scenes are beautifully described/and her story lines are great. I read book 1 a while ago, so it was hard trying to remember who was who; and there was a lot of redundancy. The story line is interesting, but frustrating since the main characters are figuring things out -- which is why there is a book 3, which I hope will be entertaining and tie everything together. I certainly hope there is not a book 4, meaning book 3 will be another cliff hanger, forcing you to buy yet another book in this series. Nora is a great author, and her stories are great, but this series is dragging along which is why I gave it a 4 star instead of a 5 star rating. ... show more

  • The ghosts clean the house! Yippee! I want one!
The first book kept me thoroughly entertained! The Mirror is also enjoyable, but I feel like the story drags just a little bit. I’m anxious for them to solve the curse! It’s a unique, haunting, curse, ghost story. If you like mystery, It’s definitely worth the read! But it’s a trilogy, I’m sure the curse won’t get solved until the third novel! Happy reading! ... show more
