  • Surprisingly fun changes to the lego video game formula!
Platform For Display: Nintendo Wii U Edition: Standard
I was a little worried when I ordered this game, as the lego franchise (I have played them ALL numerous times!) was starting to get a little stale. I have not seen the LEGO movie, and the last time I played with actual legos was well before they had kits where you build specific items - like a tie fighter or a death star (Yes, I am that old!) That being said, the LEGO movie game has some fun new tweaks. First the colors are spectacular - almost breathtaking. Second, lots of new characters. Third and maybe the most fun, as Emmett, you have to find blueprints and build stuff - and to do that they show you a lego piece and you have to pick it off the list - the quicker you can do that the more studs you get. If you have every built a lego kit, this will probably be easy for you (or your five year old), but for me it was a bit of a challenge at first. I have only done 3 or 4 levels, but I am enjoying the game. I may even go see the LEGO Movie! It is getting great reviews! ... show more

  • Brilliant game that lives up to our expectations.
Platform For Display: Nintendo Wii U Edition: Standard
This game is spectacular and includes tons of cut scenes which is great for reliving some of your favorite moments. The worlds are beautifully constructed and the missions follow closely to the movie plot. Even most the character voices are performed by the same actors which almost make this game an extension of the movie. Being able to play all of the characters (once you unlock them) is one of the best parts about it. Princess Unikitty's special ability to turn into giant Angry Kitty is hilariously fun. True, this game is shorter and less expansive than Lego City Undercover but the content and replay value make up for it. Dad and 7 year old son completed all of the missions in about a week but now they're going back to find all of the hidden items, including the elusive Where Are My Pants? pants. All in all, this is a highly entertaining and fun game and a must-have if you're a Lego fan. ... show more

  • my eight year old loves this game!
Platform For Display: Nintendo Wii U Edition: Standard
From my eight year old daughter (transcribed directly): "This game is great. How they built it and edited it is so cool. I think they did a great job with it, and it's very fun. I like how only the girls jump high. You get to be different characters from the movie and you solve puzzles as them, find things, and break things to earn coins (usually) so you can buy stuff. There's a cool feature that says you have to find pants to change into in each episode. I would like to play it for hours and hours but then my mind would be like mush with electronics, so I am only allowed to play it for half an hour or an hour at a time." She likes it, which makes her happy, and that makes me happy. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Good game, just a couple issues
Platform For Display: Nintendo Wii U Edition: Standard
We love the LEGO video games here, and The LEGO Movie game was one we couldn't wait to add to our collection! For the most part, we have enjoyed playing it. There are SO many characters to choose from and we love that it's 2-player so we can work together to beat the game. The graphics are great and the storyline follows right along with the movie, which we watched prior to buying the game. There are a couple of things that prevent us from finishing the game 100% though. There's a glitch in one world that prevents us from collecting the pants in that level. It's the dancing one -- it mixes up the Wii U Gamepad and Wiimote for the players and we are unable to complete it. Also, the Flatbush Gulch level where you must stay on the tracks to get the golden manual is pretty much impossible for us! ... show more

  • Everything is awesome! ♪ ♫
Platform For Display: Nintendo Wii U Edition: Standard
Having not seen The LEGO Movie myself (I know, I know) but having played and loved LEGO City Undercover for Wii U, I decided to pick this title up and found it incredibly charming and quite fun. It's unusual for a video game to have me smiling so frequently, but TT Games' LEGO entries are among the few that manage that. Upon first boot, the game downloads a patch to update itself to the latest version. I did run into some bugs and glitches in this title, which I could attribute to the game being on several systems and bug testing likely stretching thin accordingly. It isn't as massive a world as LEGO City Undercover, but it certainly helped to scratch the itch I had for a sequel to Undercover. ... show more

  • Fun for everyone
Platform For Display: Nintendo Wii U Edition: Standard
This was a gift that I had purchased for my daughter and son who happen to be big fans of the Lego Movie. The game is easy to play and provides instructions early on to help get an understanding of how to work the characters. My children have gotten hours of fun out of this purchase. You work your way through multiple levels that follow the actual story line of the movie. It’s great how you collect characters throughout the game to help aid in the progression towards the end of the game. My children ages 8 and 10 were able to complete this game without any assistance from me. After the story line of the game is finished there are several other objectives that need to be completed. This was the first Lego Game purchase I have made and I will definitely be looking into purchasing other Lego video games. ... show more
