Every summer, three of our grandsons (ages 17, 14 and 11) visit us one week in June, July and August. As you know, the kids want to stay inside and play on their phones. Not gonna happen on this grandpa's watch. I purchased this book to get ideas on potential projects. We found a few projects that are age appropriate. The book has some good projects that my son has really enjoyed making. He is 9 and very interested in tools and loves helping my husband around the house with projects. I thought this book would be more projects he could do on his own, however most involved using machines that he can not operate on his own without adult supervision. My husband enjoys doing this with our son, however he really wanted some independent projects. ... show more

My 8 year old son absolutely loves this! He loves woodworking, and is always trying to build stuff so we thought we’d give it a try. It has a lot of useful tips on how to handle the tools properly and the projects are great.

Bought this as a Christmas present for a young nephew. I read through it before wrapping and sending and it's a great little book for anyone wanting to get into small building projects. To be honest, I actually bought it again to have a copy for myself since it explains how to cut angles, how to use the tools etc. I'm a female who is a little intimidated by power tools, but I'd like to build a planter box based on instructions in the book. ... show more

Was Christmas gift for 7 yr old grandson and he loved it. Gave him multiple other ideas too and wants to start building right away. Some of the ideas though are for older kids or definitely younger ones need assistance.
