This was a gift for my 13-year-old nephew's BD last month. He loves hockey and plays on two different teams. When he opened it, he didn't seem very impressed, but that might have been because he was surrounded by some of his buddies. I thought the book had some interesting stuff, historical trivia.     • A Fascinating Look at the World of Hockey
I really enjoyed this book. Even though I'm far from a hockey novice, I learned quite a bit that I didn't know about the history of the game, as well as interesting aspects of the equipment. This book is well written, and the authors do a great job of bringing the game to life through fascinating player and coach stories. If you're just getting interested in hockey, and you're beginning to watch it on TV listen to it on the radio, this is a good starter book to have. It tells you a brief history, let you know about the rules, explains the international scope of the game, and tells you many of the greatest players to play in North America.
