Wonderful Book for Learning Pool
I love this book. I now enjoy playing pool with my spouse. When we invested in a pool table for our home, I wanted an instruction book to help me have a better understanding of the game and how to improve play... without having to be a whiz at geometry (i.e. angles) and "trick" shots. I looked at a lot of the books offered on the subject and THIS one was just what I needed. It's well written and takes the reader on an easy to understand journey of the game, the tools of the game, and how to play the game. Just as the title says, it's about "basic pool". Lots of pictures, great beginners book.

This book was a gift for a friend who has been wanted to learn how to play pool and she loved it. It has a lot of good information and is easy to understand because there are A LOT of pictures to show you how to apply what you're reading. This was a great buy and worth the money.

Great for beginners

This book goes over the basic concepts of pool that must be mastered in order to advance to higher skill levels in the game. It reads like a friend who is an expert giving advice to a beginning player. Very helpful.

Doesn't say much about the rules

I was looking for a rule book on pool and it only covers the rules in 2 paragraphs. The rest is on how to play pool. So if you're looking for the rules like I was, I wouldn't reccomend it.

a great book for beginners and those who want to play better
Easy to read and understand, this takes some of the mystery out of the game. Apply what they tell you with practice and u cannot help but play better. you migh not make the shot but at least you know what you are doing, and doing it correctly. A great book and will probably help more skilled players too ... show more
