  • I LOVE THIS BOOK OF GREAT CLASSICAL MUSIC!!! I LOVE THIS BOOK OF GREAT CLASSICAL MUSIC!!!
Format: Paperback
I could not be happier with this compilation of great classical plano pieces ranging in difficulty from quite easy to challenging. What I most like about it is the collection of great recognizable composers such as Chopin, Beethoven, Bach, Schumann, and so many others. I played many of these pieces 60 - - that's right 60 - - years ago when I was a teenager. I had studied for 8 years at the Cleveland Institute of Music. In the last month or two, I discovered that I wanted to go back to piano. Ovrr the decades, I had not left music entirely as I sang with a symphonic chorus for more than 25 years. But piano playing had no longer been a part of my life. I can't tell you how much I am enjoying getting back to this. I have yellow stickies on probably 8 pieces that I want to master. I even have hopes of giving a small recital one day in my 55+condo community. One of the great gifts of getting back to piano at my age is that i am able to bring a life's worth of experience and sensitivity to these pieces tha I could never have brought to them as a youngster or even young adult. I expect this bounteous book to keep me busy for the rest of my life. The only drawback is the way it is bound. I immediately took it to my local Office Depot to have a spiral binding added to it. That makes all the difference in the world. ... show more

  • Great Selection
Format: Paperback
I bought this for my grandson. He found it on Amazon and wanted to works on these songs himself. He is late intermediate to advanced and finds them easy to learn on his own. He likes the many different selections that are represented in the book.

  • If you follow the series, you can't go wrong
Format: Paperback
Comparing to other books, this is indeed intermediate. As someone else has mentioned, there are quite a few pages of "study pieces" in the books. I personally would have prefer them to be in a different book. It is a really thick book, so it is a bit hard to keep it on the stand opened. Overall, if you follow the series of Schirmer's library of musical classics, this is right on track. ... show more

  • Great Compilation. Great for Intermediate Level Music.
Format: Paperback
I got this book of Classical Piano Music for my teen. She needs a more intermediate level because she likes to play a lot of the classical pieces, but some can be a bit too complex for her at this moment, & she then gets frustrated/ discouraged when trying to play certain pieces. I figured an intermediate level would help boost her confidence and ease her into music better. I was right. This book has a LOT of great pieces and they sound amazing when she plays. I was surprised at how thick this book actually is. Overall this is a great book for pianist that are above the level of "kid" pieces, but perhaps aren't quite ready for something too complex. A lot of pieces to choose from in this book. ... show more

  • Good sheet music book!
Format: Paperback
I don’t know much about piano music but I gave this to someone as a gift (they play piano) and they adored it!

  • Good Value
Format: Paperback
Great for reading through a lot of music. Got it for sight reading material and to look for composers that are unknown to me. There are many composers to discover that they luckily added in. Really big book! That's both good and bad. It's hard to keep the book on the correct page if you're on page 1-50 or 280 to the end. They should've made the binding like the real book or something. Still worth it though. ... show more
