  • The Elf on the Shelf: A Christmas Tradition - Girl Scout Elf with Blue Eyes
Color: Blue-eyed Girl
A Magical Holiday Tradition That Fills Our Home with Joy Every Year The Elf on the Shelf: A Christmas Tradition - Girl Scout Elf with Blue Eyes is one of those timeless holiday treasures that truly captures the spirit and excitement of Christmas. From the moment we opened the box, the charm and quality of the set stood out. The girl scout elf herself is absolutely adorable—her bright blue eyes, sweet smile, and classic red outfit instantly made her feel like part of our family’s Christmas decor. She’s lightweight, easy to pose, and perfect for creating all sorts of fun and creative holiday scenes around the house. The included storybook is beautifully written and illustrated. It explains the elf’s magical mission in a way that completely engages children and draws them into the tradition. The story sets the tone for the entire experience—introducing how the elf watches over the family and reports back to Santa each night. My kids were instantly hooked, and it’s become a nightly highlight for them to imagine where she might fly off to and what she’ll be up to the next day. Each morning, there’s a burst of laughter and excitement as the kids race to find her new hiding spot. It’s a simple but powerful way to create lasting memories and keep the wonder of Christmas alive throughout December. We’ve had so much fun coming up with creative scenes—sometimes she’s reading a tiny book, hanging from the tree, or getting into mischief in the kitchen. Every day feels fresh, joyful, and filled with imagination. What makes this particular version special is the lovely blue-eyed girl scout design. She feels unique and full of personality, and the craftsmanship really stands out. The materials are durable, and even after multiple years of use, our elf still looks brand new. The presentation box also makes for easy storage once the season ends, ensuring she’s ready for her next magical return from the North Pole. Overall, The Elf on the Shelf: A Christmas Tradition - Girl Scout Elf with Blue Eyes is so much more than just a toy—it’s an experience that brings families together. It encourages creativity, storytelling, and shared laughter every single day. This has easily become one of our favorite holiday traditions, and it’s something we look forward to year after year. A perfect 5-star product that embodies the true joy and magic of Christmas! ... show more

  • Read the book
Color: Blue-eyed Girl
I reluctantly fell in love with this tradition when my daughter decided she wanted to adopt some stuffed elves from the store and was already creating lore in the car ride home, and I couldn’t refuse her the magic of it. This year, I got the real deal so that I could make use of all the pre-made props and clothes that are out there. The elves are adorable, well made, and will make my job so much easier…especially once I add floral stems into the limbs. However; I have some major issues with the book. First, I do not ascribe to the idea of naughty or nice. I had my birthday literally taken once when I was a kid for being “bad”. Yeah, no. It is not ok to put the idea into kids heads that one bad moment, or day, or poor attitude could make them bad enough in the eyes of a saint that they would deserve to not be visited by Father Christmas. No. Absolutely not. I get that is some peoples thing they do to make their kids behave, but that is not how I operate. I operate on the assumption that they are good people, imperfect as any of us, and deserving of patience and compassion. So, I removed the book and offered the Elf Mates book instead, and we stick with the concept that the elves report Christmas cheer so that Santa knows if there is help needed in creating more Christmas magic. Things like family time, play, giving, gratitude, and other things they can be inspired to participate in or initiate on their own, not through threat of the loss of material gain and the loss of Santas love, but through reinforcing the belief that they are good and will choose to do good things and forgiving them their imperfections when they act out of their nature because their good nature earns them a bit of grace and they should not be defined by even a bad week! Anyway. That is my rant. Toss the book and the attitude that Santa’s love can be earned or lost, and by extension, parental love can be earned or lost. Second, this is very obviously Christian based, meaning anyone not christian will not find it very inclusive. I don’t mind exposing my kids to other beliefs, but I want our traditions to be completely open for my kids to implore critical thinking and for us to assign values to as we see fit. However, by just not including the book I found all of this was possible. I don’t expect the company to offer a book for everyone, but it would be nice to maybe have an alternative that works for everyone…even if it is just selling the elf on its own. That might also make it more accessible to families of lower income. I didn’t make the leap for years because I just couldn’t afford it! Not for two kids, anyway. lol. In spite of those things, I love the pranks, the magic, the lessons, and the light in my kids eyes every morning. I enjoy planning a making magic with the help of these little guys (I wish there were girl mates!!!). My kids and I have a blast with this tradition every year and these dolls do open up a lot of doors when it comes to ideas. Overall, if you are planning on doing this tradition long term it is worth the investment. Just be sure to read the book to make sure it aligns with your family values and take on Christmas. ... show more
