  • This port is better then we deserve
This game port is better then it has any right to be. If I had to compare the graphics alone to previous releases it's somewhere in between the ps3 and ps4 release. Some people say that the graphics look dated, but the graphics looked dated when it first launched, it's just the nature of the Elder Scrolls series. You play this for the gameplay which is very open ended, it give you a lot of freedom and you can play anyway you want. Blast enemies with magic one minute then switch to a Battleaxe and cleave enemies heads open. The game gives you a good variety of gameplay options and ways of completing missions and progressing story. The main story isn't the worst thing but you do have a lot of fun with it with the game setting you up for victory. Because of the optional difficulty settings that you can toggle at anytime the game can be as easy or as challenging as you want. Because it is an open world game you can process with quests and story in any order you want and at your own pace or you can mess around and get nothing done but still have a fun time. But because of all the freedom you get the game does have it's fair share of issues. First off the game has a lot of glitches almost none of who've are game breaking and almost always have some sort of work around. Like quest markers not showing up (which is extremely rare) or certain quest Npcs not advancing (also extremely rare) but again these have work around. Some of the smaller glitches are Npcs following you in or out of buildings when speaking to you, occasionally an npc or item clipping through the floor or armor causing your character to be bald while equipped. This is how the game has always been but in its 7 years of being released it has never diminished the gameplay experience if even just offering a few laughs when Mammoths float in midair or dogs are sitting on top of people's heads. The game is less glitchy then the Ps3 that's for sure. The game is also packed to the brim with content. I've owned 3 versions of this game on Ps3, PC and now switch and between those 3 consoles I may have sunk 800 hours and now on the switch I am seeing all kinds of content I never did before. If anything the game is good for when you just want to relax from your first person shooters or competitive multiplayer games. The combat is also pretty fun although you're new to the serious you'll likely devolve combat into either spamming spells or swinging your weapon over and over again until you get into the meat of it and learn how to push back enemies, flinch of block moves. Its a good game. Take it from someone who has bought the game multiple times, it really is that good. ... show more

  • so I won't try to waste your time with the game itself
You probably already know what Skyrim is, so I won't try to waste your time with the game itself. The Switch port runs at 900p in docked mode and a dynamic 720p in handheld mode. Looks great on both, framerate is nice and smooth the entire time. Apparently there's an audio glitch people are experiencing sometimes but I haven't noticed it myself. This is the "enhanced edition" that came out for PS4/XB1 fairly recently, so it has some graphical tweaks to the engine and contains all of the DLC for the game. Not all of the graphical upgrades are present on the Switch, but it's still a gorgeous game with an incredible world and a ridiculous amount of content. Bottom line, if you haven't played Skyrim and have a switch, get this (or get it on PC if you want to mod it). If you've played Skyrim to death already, you'll still probably buy this, who are we kidding. If you've played Skyrim but not for 1000 hours like others have, this is a great platform to get it on because the portability alone makes it incredibly compelling. ... show more

  • Would Recommend to Others
The game is fantastic with it's open world maps and side quests that will keep you busy for months. It is the same game as on other platforms with the only differences being that it is now portable and it is also Amiibo compatible. I haven't tried it with any Amiibos yet but the game runs well and can give you a solid two hours of game play in portable mode. There is little to no lag in the game in either mode and in portable mode the screen is big enough for you to not miss anything during a fight. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone who is looking for a game that doesn't require you to complete events in a specific order, but still wants a game that isn't boring. With tons of quests, puzzles, and hair raising dungeons this game will keep you busy for hours. ... show more

  • Great RPG!
Open world concept, battle dragons, save the world, learn dragon tongue, forge weapons, steal anything you want 😂 but you can get caught! Pay a fine, go to jail, or fight it out with all the guards. Once you gain authority you can actually make guards ignore your crimes 😱👌 I am told you can get married. There are orphans in towns that you can adopt (up to two I believe). Buy your own house (different sizes and in different towns) and furnish it. Make meals, potions. Learn magic, become a vampire if you get bit and don’t tend to it. Fight giants, bandits, wild animals, orcs, reptile people, dark elves, wood elves, cat looking people 🤷♀️ (Who cares about proper names? I don’t right now.). Upgrade stamina, health, or magic with each level up. Use amiibo to make yourself look like someone else (no idea about all that, but know that’s how the picture on here is link with his shield and all). You can hire people to fight beside you and follow you around, usually found in bars. Fast travel is an option once you discover the sight obvi. Help out townsfolk etc. etc. basically do whatever the heck you want while leveling up and fighting wicked dragons. Love this game 🤓 ... show more
