I bought this dress to wear around the house or walk on the beach in very hot humid summer weather. It seems great for those purposes because it is made from very crisp 100% cotton fabric (not "rough" as another reviewer said) that won't stick to my skin. If you're looking to make a fashion statement, though, be aware that the dress is kind of shapeless. The blue version is striped with light and dark blue, as mentioned in the reviews. One thing I don't like is the fact that the sleeves are shorter than they look in the photos, although unfolding the cuffs makes them a bit longer. EDITED TO ADD: I went up 2 sizes to be sure this would be loose and comfortable; however, my usual size 2X would have been fine. I've washed the dress since writing my initial review. I really like this dress with a belt! Belts are making a comeback and this coin belt (on saw from anthropology) matches perfectly. I plan to wear this dress on vacation in Spain in September. This dress has a good weight/feel to it and is shirt-like as expected, however I’m not sure how I feel about it without a belt because it’s fairly shape-less (not necessarily a bad thing) but also give me pajama-vibes due to the length. I’m 5’8” and usually a 10-12/L or XL in dresses and I got the large, but I am ordering the blue dress in a medium to see if it still fits but is less fabric overall. The sleeves do stick out a little but that doesn’t bother me. Also when I wear a belt I can still put my hand in the pocket (in case that persuades someone who is worried about pocket-accessibility is on the fence). ... show more

Bought both colors. Both lovely. Good quality cotton and well-made. Very cool, comfy, preppy. Fabric has body - not droopy like a muumuu. Can belt if you like. Runs large! Medium in this dress is the same flat-lay width as Large in their long-sleeve linen shirtfront dress, so exchanged my Larges for Mediums. Wish there were more colors. So I got this in my normal size, a medium, and I was like iffy about it… I liked it but wasn’t sure if I would really wear it. I exchanged it for a size down and now I love it! It’s so comfortable!
