The material felt soft and breathable, giving me high hopes for a comfortable and stylish addition to my wardrobe. However, upon trying it on, I was left disappointed with the overall fit. Let's start with the positives: the dress is made from a high-quality material that feels great against the skin. The crochet pattern is beautifully intricate, adding a touch of bohemian flair to the design. Additionally, the color is stunning and true to the product images. Unfortunately, the fit of this dress was far from flattering on my body type. Despite ordering my usual size, the dress clung to areas I would have preferred a bit more forgiveness, while simultaneously feeling loose and ill-fitting in other areas. The length, described as a "micro mini," was shorter than I had anticipated, leaving me feeling self-conscious and uncomfortable. While the material and color were impressive, the fit was the make-or-break factor for me. I could overlook the length if the overall silhouette had been more flattering, but the combination of the two made it challenging to feel confident and stylish in this dress. The Drop Women's Laney Crochet Micro Mini Dress has its merits in terms of material quality and color, but the fit was simply not suitable for my body type. I took a chance on this, thinking my stomach would stick out, but to my pleasant surprise, the Large skims over my tummy and fits well. This dress looks and feels much more expensive than it is – the knit is substantial, and it is fully lined. I am 5’,5” and short waisted, and this dress hits me just above the knee, which is about as short as I’d like to go at my age. Even if this crochet trend lasts only one season, it’s worth it.

When I received this dress and I should have known from the weight of the package that something was going on. I took it out of the bag and the color, along with the pattern, was beautiful, and the lining was perfect. However, this dress weighs close to 3 lbs due to the thickness of the material. I did go with my recommended size and it fit perfectly. I live in South Texas, where temperatures right now are close to 110F daily. This dress just would not work here until November…. But, if you live in a cooler climate, don’t hesitate to just try it, it is very well made and flattering as well.

What a surprisingly beautiful plus size dress. This is a favorite for sure! Fits like a dream. True to size. Sleeves are a little long so I just racked them up. So many compliments when I wore this dress. Love it.
