  • Excellent book for someone coming back to playing
My wife played piano and added flute (self taught) while in high school, into college, but like so many, ended up having to stop as life and time took over. She’s been aching to get back and recently we were able to get an electric piano for her. It’s been years since she last played, so feeling like she needed a refresher, she found this The Classical Piano Solos Collection and simply loves it. It is laid out well and what she most appreciates is that it has a solid offering of music, progressing from easier pieces, through moderate, and finally into more complicated. While getting back into playing has been like riding the preverbal bike, it still takes time to get the muscles back into gear and fully built up. After only a couple days she felt like she could step forward again, and with daily practice (a long-lost joy) she has already progressed, bringing with that joy an appreciation for what she’d been missing. She loves this The Classical Piano Solos Collection and sits down daily to practice. She also thanks me daily for making this possible - something I am thrilled we could do. I think any musician would understand, being able to do this again is good for the soul and having music that makes it enjoyable is all the better. ... show more

  • Fun at every stage!
I bought the book to refresh my skills from in the past. A great variety of pieces at various skill levels and it was fun to discover I could play more than I thought. A great all in one from beginner to advanced.

  • Great Teaching Resource.
Songs are in progressive order, but this is not a method book. Great selections which highlight specific techniques. I use it with my students all the time.

  • This is an awesome book!!!!
This book has almost all my favorite pieces and composers in it. What makes it unique is that it is compiled by level with the easiest pieces first and gradually advance to the highest level. It is spiral bound and though it is a pretty big book, it lies open completely flat without using anything to hold the pages open. It has many pieces and composers not found in the run of the mill classical books. If I had one more classical piano book with Ode to Joy in it I would have screamed! Oh how I hate that over done, over played song in every single book I have. Just hearing it playing sends me into a psychotic rage. Enough said, its a wonderful book and I gotta go. I hear Ode to Joy playing in my head now :) ... show more

  • Binding too tight
Even with spiral bind it’s so tight one can’t keep book open

  • Too easy :(
This book only has pieces up to music grade 5. It came up in a search for advanced level. My kids are are grades 6-8 in piano which is advanced level. I’ll have to return.

  • Not very good binding
The music in the book is great with easy to more difficult pieces, however my book arrive with dirt all over the cover, plus the binding is cheap and i don’t see it holding it together in the long term.
