  • Be a beekeeper
If you are looking to either take up beekeeping as a hobby or business venture, then this book will help you out. This is a book collection and each one focuses on a different topic. The first book looks at how bee colonies function as a hive, the roles each bee plays, etc. Another book looks at how to begin a beekeeping business, this can entail honey production or items made from beeswax. Another of the books looks at the equipment you will need to take up beekeeping. One of the books looks at how to care for the beehives and the bees themselves. This is a well written book. It is written in a way that is easy to follow and not bogged not in jargon that can't be understood by those outside the community. ... show more

  • Great gift for a bee keeper
My husband absolutely loves this book. We appreciate the information and the way it's presented. Very informative and a great gift for any novice bee keeper.

  • Several grammar and punctuation errors.
This book is poorly copied and pasted. The editor didn’t seem to read what he or she was writing. There is a line that says the only task of the drone is to fertilize a small sheep. Not sure what to make of that. There was a line where there were two commas next to each other. There was an entire paragraph that was long run on sentence. These mistakes tell me that this book was likely written by someone who doesn’t speak English well. Or it was copied and pasted and not checked for error. These mistakes were all in the first chapter. So confusing for a novice bee keeper. Where can I find a small sheep to be fertilized by a drone bee??? ... show more

  • Honey
My daughter always wanted to take up bee keeping so I saw this book and decided we should do it. I really don't care to get stung but I do love the honey I guess it goes hand in hand. I'm sure glad I did get this book because I didn't know you had to register the bee's just incase your neighbors have a problem with them and they also tell you how many bees you can have for the location your at. This book helps you know what kind of bee's you will need and how to tell them apart and just what that one bee does to help it run smooth this book also explains what you can use every thing from the honey for different meds and foods to the wax for making candles and other things. There is a diagram at the end of the book that is useful in building your own bee boxes and some great pictures if bees and more ... show more

  • If you are after bee humor, get this book!!
Well, this was quite the bible! A few excerps says it all "Drones are male bees. The only task of the drone is to fertilize a small sheep." Im thinking, what about the large sheep? "Most beeswax candle makers return the honeycomb to the bees once they are done with it." Well, i imagine the excited bees would be able to hold vigils with teensy candles.... "Every single type of beehive uses some type of frame. A beehive without frames is simply not a beehive." Poor feral bees.. no place to call home, how can they survive without our help? "Supplant the Frames As you assess each casing, put it out from the dark space left by the past outline you eliminated." Errrmm. What? And many many more tidbits of wisdom just like this! ... show more

  • My review
Overall the book has very good information about bees, care and how to get started. But I did find several spots in the book were the book editor did not correct the spacing between the lines. The areas that were covered could have been in a different order. Also this is not 5 books in 1. It just one book. Your break up subject by chapters. ... show more
