I got this Dog Man Supa Epic Collection for my son for Christmas, and it was an instant hit. He was hooked from the moment he opened the box and has been reading nonstop ever since. The comic-style pages make it fun and easy to follow, and the humor had him laughing out loud — which I honestly love because it makes reading feel exciting, not like a chore. What I really appreciate as a parent is that while the books are silly and fun, they also sneak in great messages about kindness, friendship, and doing the right thing. It’s one of those rare series that kids genuinely enjoy and parents feel good about buying. If you have a child who’s a reluctant reader or just loves funny books, this collection is 100% worth it. It’s been one of our favorite Christmas gifts this year, and I’d absolutely recommend it to other parents.

Second grader loves this series

My second grader has been struggling to read so I have been taking him to the library and buying random books online to try to find something he is interested in. I saw this set with all the wonderful reviews so decided to give it a shot. He is now reading!! Not only reading, but looks forward to bedtime because we read a chapter a night. Most nights he begs for "just one more chapter!" (That turns into 4 more chapters before I say sorry buddy, gotta go to sleep.) I even find him in his room trying to read it by himself. Some of the words are a bit difficult so he still wants help. He has come a long way in a very short period of time. These books are silly and so entertaining especially for a child but I get laughs also! Highly recommend to any parent trying to get their child excited about reading. This set would also make a wonderful gift. I rated the difficulty moderate because one book in particular had French in it. They translate at the bottom of the box but I don't consider that "easy."

Good dogs. Bad guys. Lots of laughs.

From a parent standpoint, this set is pure gold. The kid wants to read. No reminders. No negotiations. No “just one more page”—because they’re already five chapters ahead and ignoring me. The humor is goofy but clever, the illustrations keep things moving, and somehow reading becomes fun instead of a chore. The collection itself is solid quality and worth every penny. Just know what you’re signing up for: laughter, nonstop references, and a child who suddenly thinks underwear jokes are high comedy. Highly recommend. Dog Man now lives on our bookshelf and in our home. Rent-free.

Great way to make your ADHD kid feel special

My child started bringing Dog Man books home from the school library, and it was clear that she was really excited about them and eager to read. They were in such high demand at school that she was having trouble getting them - so of course I did what any parent who delights in seeing their child's eyes light up would do, I ordered her the set. It was wonderful to see her so excited to read, rather than feeling like it's a chore. Once we started getting into the series, I realized that one of the characters was named 80-HD, and the author himself has ADHD. It just so happens that my child had recently been diagnosed with ADHD, but I hadn't introduced the label yet. I was considering the most constructive way to go about it. Enter Dog Man. The timing could not have been better; it's like this beautiful and positive opportunity dropped right into my lap. So....the next time we read a passage that included 80-HD, I said, "oh! I see Dav named his robot after ADHD, the challenge with focusing sometimes that Dav also has - AND, you share that with him! It's so cool that he named his robot 80-HD!" She absolutely beamed and said, "you mean I have the same thing that the Dog Man writer has??" Yassss...Thank you, Dav Pilkey, from the bottom of my heart:). Definitely recommend.
