    • Great Set of Books for Any Paw Patrol Fan!
I recently discovered Paw Patrol and, based on the fact that it's a show geared towards preschoolers although children of any age would enjoy it, felt it would be very appropriate and suitable for my 2 1/2 year old twins. My kids are delighted with the show and have never been as excited over a show as they are over Paw Patrol! Given the fact that they also love to look at books and have me read to them, I figured I would look into purchasing some Paw Patrol books as well. I came upon this set and it seemed like a good choice so I purchased it and my kids love it! There are four very sturdy board books about the different puppies. The product description doesn't currently include the titles of the books so I will include them here: Rescue Team! Rocky and Rubble Marshall and Skye Chase and Zuma Each book is about two of the puppies, with the exception of Rescue Team! which is about all of the puppies and ways they help the community of Adventure Bay. The other three books showcase each set of puppies and highlight their specialties and how they help out in their various missions. The pages each contain one or two sentences so it won't take you very long to read them but they are perfect for young children who like Paw Patrol. If you are familiar with the DVD entitled Paw Patrol, you will recognize scenes from those episodes in these books. Please note that these books don't mention Everest, the newest female Paw Patrol puppy. The books come in a great sturdy cardboard box with a handle and velcro to seal it so it's perfect for taking in the car or on a trip. This box set includes four different paw patrol "stories." Each of the characters (Marshall, Ruble, Chase, Zuma, Rocky, Skye) are represented. There is one story that focuses on all of them and the the remaining three books focuses on a pair of the pups. The books are about the size of a small notebook (if you took an 8.5 x 11 piece of paper and folded it from top to bottom). The "stories" are short, short, short! There only 8 pages in each book. A sentence occupies only four of the pages. So, ultimately someone wrote a paragraph long story and then took sentence each and put it on a page. Also, I use the term story loosely because the sentences are more like action phrases and there is no actual story being told in any of these. There is a lack of flow or build-up. Unlike the cartoons themselves where there is a beginning, middle, and an end, these books lack true storytelling. There is an introduction to the Paw Patrol, and then, all of a sudden they rescue someone or help and it is The End. In plain English, the story is choppy. There is no crisis or conflict. The stories lack a climax. If these books employed the storytelling that they use in the cartoon, then I would rank this set higher; however, they do not. My son actually enjoys the box more than the books and my son loves books. So, I would bypass these had I known, but they make a decent stocking stuffer or gift for a kid who likes Paw Patrol and is about 18 to 30 months of age. A child older than 2.5 will probably be bored. My son is 3.5 and can and will sit for Beatrix Potter. The only reason why he's somewhat patient with these books is because he loves Paw Patrol in general. Therefore, I'm not impressed. The only thing likable about the "Friendship Box" is the box. The cardboard is very sturdy and the Velcro used to close the flap is strong and it stays closed. There is a little plastic handle for carrying around the box. I'm not quite sure why I or my son would need to do this, but okay maybe I'll need it just in case. The colors and pictures in the books are vibrant and everything Paw Patrol (pictures of a Lookout, Adventure Bay, the Farm, . The size of the font is large (14 pt.). However, other than that, I'm none too pleased with this. There are some books that I will keep and store away forever for my son. This will go to a yard sale once the Paw Patrol phase wears off. ... show more

    • My Toddler is in Love
As an adult, I was very unimpressed with these books. There is hardly a story in each book - no rhyming or anything. But, my toddler is obsessed. He loves the carrying case and insists on reading them all in one sitting. He sits intently for each book, as if it's some sort of a masterpiece. And then he wants to read them all again. And again. And again. He is 2 and we started reading these before his second birthday. I doubt they'll keep his attention past age 3, but we will see. The price is just right for this set - I wouldn't pay more than $7.50 for it. Just buy it and make your kid happy. ... show more

These books are very cute. Really simple stories but perfect for kids (especially those who don't want to sit for long) My son is 20 months and he loves to look at the pictures and have me read them to him. He's obsessed. They are sturdy books and the pictures are bright and colorful. We also make a look and find game for each page. We look for shapes and colors. He has fun and is learning. These books are VERY short, in fact so short i almost regretted buying them, but my 2 year old LOVES them. They are a staple at bedtime and the short stories make it easy for my toddler to memorize and therefore crackup if i “mistakenly” change a word or two.

    • Paw patrol is my boys favorite!
My almost 2 year old LOVES Paw Patrol so I was thrilled when I found these books. They came in a box which is a 4-pack which was really nice since books are so expensive individually. These are very fairly priced for a set & seem to be of good quality so far! He loves looking at the pictures and they are board books so it's easy for him to turn pages himself without paper cuts.
