    • It’s a work out.
Bought this tool to do my backyard. Goodness it’s a workout. Took me a good two days after work to get it done. It did what it’s supposed to do. Only pain was having to keep tightening the wing nuts at the rake side.

    • Works good but materials are not built to last
Spent a few hours working in the yard with this to thatch rake and noticed that the adjustment was loosening up. So I set the adjustment and tightened both wingnuts down hand snug, one broke. I twisted the wings right off. Could be a lemon but the wingnuts are aluminum, not steel and the hardware says made in Thailand. For half the price of an electric dethatcher, I think I'll be returning and ordering the machine that will let me do the whole yard in thirty minutes vs the rake which is an entire days work, and grueling at that. ... show more

Having bought a house that was a fixer upper - the lawn needed some fixing up as well. Every time it rained the water would sit - it was like walking on a sponge. The grass looked brown eventhough it was watered - this little gem did the trick. I got bags and bags ( 17 to be exact) of old thatch out of my lawn - it took me several days and was a better work out than my gym but lawn looks great. We got 4 inches of rain this weekend and I can actually walk in my back yard without sinking in. Shared it with the neighbor who also thought this little guy was a gem. Really think I will follow the guidelines of doing this every year to keep my lawn looking great again. A regular rake does not get the thatch out like this one does - use it like a comb- pull it back and it grabs the thatch out - push it forward and it releases the thatch into a pile.     • Grass clean up
Maybe I had higher expectations for this. For one the first day both bolts that held it on fell off somewhere in my yard. I found some around the house and put them on. It takes muscle to get this to dig into the grass. It works ok but then I was hoping it would be better.
