I purchased this Cable a few months ago, and it has been a great addition to my setup. The cable gets the job done and looks fantastic. The white and black color scheme is sleek and stylish, and the coiled design keeps my desk looking clean and organized. This is definitely a solid choice but there are definitely some cheaper alternatives that look the same and serve the same purpose.

I was using this for a while. And while I do like the looks, especially for the price compared to others. I have discovered a big issue. I am working on typing faster, have been for a few weeks now. And while typing I kept getting this feeling that the keys I was pressing weren’t being typed in the order I pressed them. As far as I can tell anything over 65 wpm is to much for the cable. I think that I’m typing two characters within a very close gap and it causes it to get scrambled perhaps. Not honestly sure but I kept getting errors when I knew that I had typed exactly what I was suppose to. So I tested it out and if you type in very close succession the cable feeds the characters out of order. I was typing around 60wpm on average. I swapped out the cable that came with my Ducky keyboard and I immediately was typing around 70wpm and all those errors I felt weird about were gone. Another thing I noticed is the plastic knot at one end of the ducky cable, perhaps this is what keeps it from causing errors.

For those not in the know, these are cool-looking cables that work as they normally would any other USB-C cable but look cool. These are usually used for custom keyboards on a person's work desk or PC gaming setup. The reason these are so cheap is that they're premade and very small compared to custom aviator cables. You're limited to the colors shown here instead of customizing the color of every part of the cable; allowing most people to match the cable to the exact colorway of their keyboard, deskmat, and other electronics in their setup. More expensive custom aviator cables tend to retain their shape better but I think that there are so many options out there that that's pretty inconclusive. A few vendors are also willing to make massively huge (or just longer) aviator cables if you're willing to pay for them. Honestly, there's a lot of dumb things in the custom keyboard hobby but massive aviator cables have to take the cake. At the end of the day, you can just buy a regular, straight cable and a cheapo plastic, mechanical keyboard and I think we all know that. If you're wondering what the big deal is; it's no different from buying $2-$300 sneakers because they're in a specific, limited edition colorway and another manufacturer comes out with the same colorway for $75; that's basically what's happening here. Most aviator cables are $50 - $100 from most e-tailers and online designers for the reasons explained. I actually like collecting these cables (as silly as it is) and happy somebody out there is forcing prices down. I'm also impressed with how many cable colors Tez Cables is churning out. I do want to mention that the ACTUAL use of aviator cables is so you can connect USB-C, mini and micro USB to the end by detaching and re-attaching different cable parts, ideally reducing the number of cables you have to buy and store. Maybe Tez already has those options but it may be worth looking into, to get more use out of these kinds of cables. I would do more research and shopping around though. Thanks for reading. Sam C.

I got this cheap(-er) cable to be able to quickly switch between the cable that goes to my work laptop and the cable that goes to my personal desktop (work laptop won't play nice with KVM it's a long story) The product is really good but I learned the hard way that /there is no standard orientation for the GX-16 connector/. If you want to use the coiled USB-C section of this cable with the straight USB-A section of another brands' cable, make sure you have the right side of the GX-16 connectors! For reference: on this TEZ cable, the coiled USB-C section has the male GX-16 (recessed pins). On the Glorious PC cable I have (ugh I hate that name) the USB-C coiled section has the female (plastic clad socket with the locking ring.

I had originally ordered a black cable to match the keyboard at work. However, I think I actually like this color better than the black, and it fits better with my home workstation. Red also happens to be my favorite color. Initial impressions are pretty good. It seems to be pretty sturdy, and the plastic wrapping gives it a really cool shadow effect over the cable. I have used cables like this in the past, and I'm not sure if the plastic will last for very long, but I will hopefully remember to update this review in the future. The screw cap to secure both sides of the cable feels pretty cheap. It's metal, however it's really thin. I was afraid I was going to strip it while I was feeling around trying to find the threads. Would I recommend this cable? Sure. If you want an aviator cable and this is your first one you probably won't be disappointed, given the price. Will your keyboard still work with a $3 cable that you purchased from Walmart? Also yes.

I love my Tez cables, while they are functional. In 18 months, I have gone through 2 of their cables and had the same issue with both. The USB C connector is very low quality and seemingly breaks under the weight of the coil. Maybe this could be resolved by having a more pliable cable? In any case, I do not want to keep replacing my cable so I will be shopping for others when my third Tez cable inevitably has the same issue. **I do switch between several different customs on almost a daily basis, that said I am very gentle with it and I still don't think the cable should be breaking so quickly under that little amount of force.
