I got these shoes for my daughter who is an avid hiker. She tried on 6 different shoes (thanks to Amazon's try-before-you-buy service) from all the big names in hiking shoe companies. Ultimately, this was the shoe for her. She loved the look and the durability of the shoe. The leather and goretex combination means good support, good wear, and good durability. She fell in love with the unique heel support strap on this shoe and has been on several hikes along the Appalachian Trail with them. So far, she has over 180 miles on these shoes, and there is barely any signs of wear. This is simply a terrific shoe.

I am a hiker recovering from surgery to remove neuromas in my feet. I have had to be very careful in the shoes I purchase for comfort and ability to walk/hike in comfort. These are it! They are roomy enough in the toe area to give me enough space but not to roomy that my feet move about. They were comfortable from the start and did not require a break in period. I also wear them for work, where I can be on my feet up to 6 hours.

I ordered several varieties of hiking boots / shoes recently, but I knew the moment I put this on that the shoe was far superior to the others I had tried! It was amazing comfortable and fit incredibly well. I do not have a wide foot, but I do appreciate the wide toe box and the insole in incredibly comfortable. It seems they will need little to no "breaking in". I am very pleased with this purchase!

Searched awhile and tried on a lot of hiking shoes. Use for walking also. Had oboz, not made the same any longer. Tried Keens, and other recommended. This one has the best comfort. Only downside is the colors. Not many choices. .

Longest hike of the 4 was 5.5 miles; we’re not talking about long-distance trekking. Already there are holes worn through the interior heels of both boots. I can see why REI dropped these. It’s a shame because I was replacing Teva boots that were discontinued and that I loved.
