These boots came in very handy this winter. I purchased the black size10.5 suede like material yes they are water proof as described. I had enough room in them when I wore my thick socks. They are warm with non skid bottoms and they unzip on both sides making it easy to put on. Sadly they do not have much arch support. My feet stayed warm and comfortable when walking around outdoors. I wore these in -41° temperatures in Northern Alaska. Seeing the Northern lights. My toes were always toasty. I did wear thick socks but my feet never felt cold. With that said, I was not hiking around in the snow. I was walking unshoveled driveways and on top of packed snow. My honest opinion about this snow boot. I wore this for about 1 week everyday and the bottom does wear down but it's really really comfortable. However it's not water proof, I actually got inside my shoe wet from stepping in a small puddle. Other than that, it's really comfy and you can walk forever in them, also keep ur feet really warm.
